953 dead in the last 24 hours. One every 90 seconds. Highest daily total so far in Europe. Our government’s initial action, or lack of more accurately, and ‘herd immunity’ really being show up to be a hugely deadly mistake. A ridiculous assertion. Let's wait and see the final death tolls before we start throwing around blatant political propaganda.

Oh, and by the way, nothing needed to be twisted, Diane Abbott is a joke. When that number of people are dying per day, in excess of any other country in Europe, at what point are we allowed to scrutinise the action or inaction of the government? It is becoming plain to see the we reacted far too late.

Is it proven that the death rate would not have been so high if we had not gone down the "herd immunity" route? Serious question

In my day the cane and strap were administered with gusto.Ruler firmly thrust on back of outstretched hands also deployed to punish miscreants. Indeed. We had a teacher, a German, who had a leather slipper which he would hold under a tap before hitting you. He also made you spend the whole lunchtime standing, facing the wall with your hands on your head, if you moved you got the slipper. This was PRIMARY school ffs
