So with all respect I have to take your latest claim with a truck load of salt. Lol - I did that. Went to Ascot on a corporate a few years ago. As part of the deal a famous racing man came and gave us some tips and his thoughts on each race. He had 40 years at the top of the profession as a trainer and owner. I know sweet fa about horse racing so meticulously wrote his tips down, listened to his rationale and stuck my tenner, for each of the 7 races, on his tip. Nothing. Nada. Not a winner, not an each way. I felt absolutely shafted. Even on Sky super 6 I get at least one score spot on and a few results, so I’d expect a 40 year veteran of racing to have a good idea. On the rare occasions I go now I just bet on Irish horses and trainers or do the opposite of the ITK’s and hold my own!

If the tip came from a jockey we ignored it but if from a trainer it was frequently correct

Have you not realised that your source keeps getting it wrong and you just embarrass yourself on here?! With all respect, your track record is shocking and this ‘I’m just passing it on’ facade is a load of rubbish. You’re just blagging it! They offer a lot of amusement much as yours do. Firstly you say that "your source keeps getting it wrong" and then you say that "You’re just blagging it!" Make your mind up as both statements can't be right and it isn't the first time that you have contradicted yourself

Now I know this is all in the press so nothing new but I’m being told yes I know what you will all say but I am being told tonight that providing no hitches we will have a new manager hopefully within 48hrs. That man is Lucien Favre 3 year contract talks are progressing but all is going well & SP is very confident we have our man. Only passing what I have been told, may be rubbish but just passing on the info.

(I have considered that a likely scenario is that he simply thought that he’s not going to give a bunch of corporate freeloading tossers any decent tips and we wouldn’t have a clue anyway - which, in my case, was spot on)! I'm getting my folk tales mixed up - is it "The Emperor's New Clothes", or "The Boy Who Cried Wolf"?

Anyway the proper tips did very well indeed unfortunately he has retired so that has all dried up leaving us as just mug punters. My favourite tip was not from him but his nephew who was also a concierge. About 2 minutes before the off at the Oaks he called from the Royal enclosure and gave us the 20/1 winner with the classic "lump on lads and we did". He got that from the chauffeur who drove the owners to Epsom they were discussing how much to lump on (£20,000 I think). Anyway it won in a photo, happy days, I had about 4 winners that day, of all people my mate didn't back it because he didn't trust his nephew's tips.
