A huge plus for De Boer would be that the Ajax setup is rightly regarded as at the top in terms of infrastructure and especially for bringing kids through. Would be great if he was able to impart some of that knowledge here.

It's quite a tough career to judge though? Ajax should be challenging every year regardless - four titles in a row is impressive but not sure of the state of PSV/Feyen at that time. Be more interested in how they did in europe.

Yes there were problems at Inter but his results were awful considering the squad he had.

I'd still rather Pellegrino based largely on the job he did last year with a club punching above it's weight (should give him a good platform here)

I agree, which is why I wouldn't dismiss his achievements so quickly. I do not know who will do the best job, but I like the candidates who have been clearly linked.

If you come to a fork in the road, take it.

As frustrating as the delay in recruiting a new manager is for everyone - myself included - I still think we should realise that we are the only Premier League club currently in the market for a new manager.

Unless/until Southampton sack Puel this puts us in a very strong negotiating position with any manager who wants a piece of the Premier League.

I can see why they're taking that little bit more time to obtain the best manager we can get even if it makes us HOL natives restless......

We may be the only PL club currently looking for a manager, but we aren't the only club in Europe to be doing so.

The Premier League is where it's at these days - mainly due to the wages of both players and managers. A job in a middling Premier League club is infinitely more attractive than the equivalent in any other league in Europe.

His record with Ajax: four titles in a row (first time ever in eredivisie according to wiki), then second by 17 points, then second again by 2 points (missing the title on the last day).

Four titles, and lost out in the title race in the final game of the season! Inter were inconsistent, but those problems existed before he arrived and continued after he left, and were as much as anything to do with problems at the club.

If that's downhill, it works for me.

Whether he is right for Palace is one thing, but let's not make stuff up.

Yes it looks very impressive on paper but Ajax are in the top two in the dutch league which is a lots easier than our PL and the resources and spend power he would have had would be at the top end of the league and therefore how would he perform on shoestring budget with a lot of very average limited ability players and a chairman who is very much hands on, which top manager would not like?

Could be good. As long as he's not dead set on playing from the back all the time and can adjust his set up, would be a good choice.

Very unfashionable thing to say this, but Ajax style playing from the back isnt Palace's style. We tried that with Pardew and look where it got us! I would put more confidence in a coach like Dyche who knows how to develop the'tight at the back, counterattacking style

People keep saying it's easy. Fair enough, but how does that equate to a record of four straight titles, if it really is as easy as people claim? Also, they had not won the title for six years, and he came straight in and did that: rarely easy to do.
