I really regret having to say this yet again but voters don't give MPs "instructions". They vote in people to represent the constituency they happen to live in who then take decisions that they believe are in their collective best interests. That includes not just those who voted for them, but those who voted against them, those who did not vote and those who could not vote because they were too young. The latter's interests being particularly important. This idea that just because the Leave vote got a few more votes than Remain means that everyone else's interests must be disregarded needs to be erased really soon if we are ever going to make any progress. This is a bit Edmund Burkish again.

Waiterless dining In case anyone thought that entry level jobs were not under threat from IT. You are only going to see more of this which is why we need to control the numbers and the job skills of people coming to this country.

Amber Rudd has gone, good and if there are any more rebels out their put up or shut up. The problem with being in permanent conservative party bum-licking mode is the nauseating hypocrisy. If Amber Rudd had not resigned half an hour you would have been on here singing her praises.

I heard that if the Conservatives placed a no confidence motion against Boris, they would just need a simple majority to get to an election. That would obviously be a rather unorthodox way of getting to that point, but I expect we'll be seeing lots of unprecedented moves from across the political spectrum over the coming weeks, so it's hard to rule anything out. That said a November election still surely looks the most likely at this point.

We should open the doors and let anyone in. Youngsters can’t get into careers at entry level? So what? Housing issues? And? We can’t get onto the housing ladder. Theres no baristas in Costa Coffee. There’s some horrible people in this country. I’m European, not British. You’ve ruined my future.’ Tell any millennial about automation and watch them do an Emily Thornberry look diagonally up left or just gaze blankly. There will be a good few moments in the future where a working relationship with the EU but not membership and they would be relieved, but that won’t happen because we’ll remain or may as well remain with whatever ‘’the EU thinks is acceptable to offer the U.K.’’ going by recent labour responses to questions.
