Wayne just isn’t a Palace type of player. We’re used to fighters at Palace and Wayne just isn’t that. I think that’s why he’s never fitted in and been accepted. I can see why Pulis signed him as a back up but it was stupid to expect him to deputise as a first team goal keeper for so long and it is clear that this was never the plan, what with the numerous attempts to replace him. Think this is the reason he got slaughtered so much, because he should never have been in goal for us in the first place. It’s a sorry story that is all over now thankfully. He’ll be off to a new club in Jan where the pressure won’t be too much for him and he’ll probably have a nice little few years with them in the Champ or league one. He’s got no international tournament to get prepared for either now so he can just simply take things at his own pace and earn a nice wage for doing so. What a lucky lad eh.

Speroni made a howler against Everton in 2004. Kiraly took number one spot for 3 or so seasons. Speroni comes back and becomes what he becomes. Speroni makes a howler against Everton in 2017. This time IMO he will be playing next week.

In fact i’d say he laid to rest the ghost of the howler against Kevin Campbell by taking the Bali around their attacker beautifully on Saturday. The mix up between him and Dann can’t really be described as a howler. And if you insist on calling it that, who howler was it. Dann’s or Jules?

Only those with tunnel vision would say that it wasn't a howler and although I suppose Dann could have reacted quicker I doubt whether he expected a suicide pass from Speroni so was caught unawares

You are a hypocrite BG, you were quick enough to come on here and totally blame Hennessey for the ROI goal but you are now trying to absolve Jules of any blame for Niasse's goal. You know full well Jules should have launched the ball up the field instead of show boating. So in answer to your question it was Jules howler.

As far as I can tell Dann didn't call for the ball. Williams did call for it for Wales. Perhaps Jules should go to Specsavers.

I don't think Jules made a howler. First up, his dummy on the Everton player was sensible because if he'd hoofed it the ball could have rebounded straight into the net. Second, if he'd then cleared it upfield straight back to Everton and they'd come right back and scored he'd have been blamed.

WH would have been slaughtered on here if he had made that bad error of judgement on Saturday. Mainly because it would have been seen as yet another mistake in a long line of mistakes. I think Speroni has done ok since being recalled, but defensively we have been poor all season and the players are lacking in confidence.

The two incidents are linked, as it clearly shows that Speroni has limitations outside shot stopping. The fact none of those managers manage in top flight football also speaks volumes. The one that does and has managed his country as well as some of the most elite football clubs in the world has rightly outed Hennesey and replaces him with the better goal keeper. So let’s have it right yeah.

If he had belted it upfield there was far, far less chance of them coming back and scoring, especially with so little time left. To play the ball short, when the player didn't call for it and when he could see the situation in front of him was terrible keeping.
