I don't think anyone was supportive of Hamas or their atrocities. Allegedly as it’s Hamas reporting it. A bit like hmg telling us right wing groups are more dangerous than terrorists or antifa. Total BS.

Mass graves of found. Volker Türk called for independent investigations into the deaths. Palestinian officials said they had exhumed the bodies of almost 300 people at Nasser. It is not clear how they died or when they were buried. The only thing that seems to have emerged so far are reports from Hamas. Has any evidence emerged? The problem is that a lot of media reports what Hamas says as factual. I would not believe it with out some actual corroboration, and would apply the same test to the IDF. What is sure is that it's another tear in a sea of sadness From the BBC "BBC Verify has verified videos posted online on 22, 25 and 28 January, which show Palestinians burying bodies at two locations in the courtyard of Nasser hospital. The footage was geolocated by using the line of double palm trees and matching visible buildings in the middle-distance." These graves may well be temporary graves or similar. There as yet seems no evidence of mass killings by the Israelis as in the wars in former Yugoslavia Edited by HKOwen (25 Apr 2024 8.36am)
Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

A friend of mine is an archaeologist who specialises in forensic archaeology of mass graves (I'm an historian). He will likely be the one who examines this - eventually. It takes quite a long process. He likes his job - has been working over in former Yugoslavia and Iraq. Not sure I'd enjoy it. You would be surprised how advanced we are in this field. The big catalyst was Yugoslavia. The proper investigation should pretty much reveal all. Really? How they died is a given. Certain circumstances surrounding their burial are pointers. But definitive? Thus, if they were all found to have been crushed under masonry from different buildings, then this is more likely to be a case of an authority cleaning up. Bodies found to have been killed through Israeli assault rifles will obviously point the other way. However, pathology is not always that conclusive. It is questionable eye witness testimony that has evidential primacy. Edited by silvertop (25 Apr 2024 9.37am)

The problem is no one will be allowed anywhere near it.

In a way, it must be quite nice to just invent whatever reality you’re most comfortable with and form opinions around that. I could imagine quite a comfort in just making up a story you’re comfortable with and stating that as the facts of the matter.

Personally I'd put nothing past either group....in a way it's understandable. The level of hatred is off the chart. When your daily life normalises brutality, both done to you and visited upon others then the value of life becomes minor. My observation upon who actually was behind what is difficult because the truth is a commodity in war and in its place your favoured side's narrative becomes its own truth. Staying above such things becomes extremely difficult once your people's bodies start piling up....Just human nature. Edited by Stirlingsays (25 Apr 2024 1.05pm)

Is history on the side of those Japanese killed by the atom bomb? I don't think that 'history' is the primary factor. Did it help them or justify the actions of their governments?

Terrorists will always give you a side which garners support from certain people who believe what they say. I asked where the pictures are of these graves being dug by the Israelis were. The silence on this is the deafening bit !!!

I have seen some IDF spokesperson claiming the Gazans dug the graves themselves, and another Israeli politician who said they were all combatants killed in gunfire exchange. So all in all, there doesn't seem to be any contention as to the existence of these mass graves. Of course, we will still no doubt enjoy some mental exercises where we pretend there might be legitimate, justifiable reasons for such sites to exist, or explore wildly unlikely hypotheticals as to how these people ended up there.

Just to confirm what you think happened here; Hamas entered an area known to have been occupied by the IDF. They didn't attack the IDF, but instead rounded up 400 Palestinians, killed them all for reasons unknown, dug them a mass grave, and then scurried off into the night without anyone noticing? And the proof for that hypothesis is that there are no photos of the IDF digging the graves? Am I missing anything?
