If anyone needs a reason not to seriously consider their vote for UKIP they need only listen to last week's Any Questions David Coburn - UKIPs Scottish MEP - made an absolute tit of himself. Repeatedly. Was thoroughly embarrassing. And this was on a panel that included Natalie Bennett (post her cringeworthy interview) and the massive political "heavyweights" Ed Davey and Emma Reynolds. THIS! Listened to this on my way to work this morning. The guy was a joke. Incoherent ranting, lazy slurs about immigrants. I was very likely to vote UKIP until a few months ago. Then they started appearing regularly on Any Questions. The screechy moron Bours pretty much managed to put me off single-handedly. The likes of this guy and O'Flynn have put the nail in the coffin. I will not be voting this year as there isn't a party I feel able to support. (Being a non-resident I can't really vote on local issues). As an aside, the audience in the programme was awful! Sounded like a bunch of idiotic, naive students. They cheered virtually everything Bennett said. Was more like a rally than a serious discussion programme.

Was more like a rally than a serious discussion programme. They really were, weren't they? Slow hand-clapping and jeering. It was almost as much of an embarrassment as David Coburn himself. Wasn't it at some building in Bristol Uni? So probably not surprising it was stuffed with students. On Coburn - if that is one of the strongest politicians that UKIP can provide (and you have to assume he is or else they wouldn't have let him anywhere near a national broadcast), then the party really deserves much more significant mockery and scorn than it currently receives. People should be genuinely afraid of the sort of policies UKIP would seek to implement if David Coburn is a real reflection of either the upper echelons or grass roots of the party. Nuttals was on "World at One" yesterday and was actually ok. O'Flynn is an ex-journalist who should have a lot of credibility. But he made some ridiculous comments about immigrants and WW1 -- along the lines of "100 years ago people died for this country, nowadays they'd probably volunteer for the enemy" -- ignorant and offensive bilge which killed him for me. I now think of UKIP as a one-man-band. An *extremely* adept and smart politician in Farage, possibly the best in the country, and almost nothing else besides.

I'll be attending 'any questions' in a few weeks as it'll be local to me. I can submit a question on the way in and may get to ask it. What should I ask? (praps should be a thread on its own) I don't yet know who the panellists will be.

The only important question, "Did You", holding up a picture of Cliff Richard. You should probably wear a HOL shirt whilst doing it.

It could be UKIP or Gay Rights or the economy but it could equally well be Noel Edmonds surely ? How hairy is your wifes fanny or Should I buy a Renault Clio....

Perhaps.... 'To put into HOL terms' 'Does the panel think Cliff is a dirty nonce or simply an innocent bender' followed by Nick singing a chorus of Glad all Over ??

UKIP has announced its intention to introduce a points system for immigration similar to that used in Australia. [Link] Here's how it would work: Immigrants would need 100 points to qualify. Failure to score the minimum will result in immediate repatriation, even if you're a native of UK. Are you ethnically Caucasian? Score 50
