Not exactly self made, although that is one of his thousands of lies.

He has also filed for bankruptcy 4 times.

Have a read about Trump's unique ability to fail in business:

Trump airlines
Trump casinos
Trump magazine
Trump mortgage
Trump travel
Trump tower tampa

And last but not least

Trump university

Berlusconi is also a billionare, and also as thick as pig s***.

Eike Batista is another dumbass billionaire, thought he was so stupid he now owes a billion.

Being a billionaire does not mean you are smart or savvy, a good leader, a decent person, or able to be a positive force in this world.

God only knows you dont need to be intelligent (in fact it probably hurts you) to appeal to Maga hat waving slack jawed slobbering rednecks.

Hardly unique for a businessman to fail in some areas. Richard Branson has managed it in, among others : Cola drinks, Bridal wear, flowers, Express Airlines, cars, clothing, digital music, vodka, cosmetics and his megastore.
By “slack jawed slobbering rednecks” you presumably mean working class and struggling people who didn’t find life under Clinton and Obama quite as rosy as the bien pensant intelligentsia? Perhaps there should be a means test to ensure election for your preferred options and keep poor people in their place.

Wow, you have a lot of bitterness inside you mate.

For Trump to go from a millionaire to a billionaire is a very good achievement if you ask me. As you have rightly pointed out, large wealth can all be lost very easily.

All of the top businessmen have failed businesses – that is what makes them successful because they try new things and never give up despite failure. Steve Jobs was fired from Apple Computers and there were many failed Apple products among the good ones. Henry Ford had two failed automotive companies before Ford Motors etc etc. Trump lost it all by overstretching his finances and made bad decisions but he managed to fight back by rebranding himself.

And why do you care if someone is rich and stupid? Seems like you have the typical leftist trait of envy. The other nasty trait being that your side is intelligent and the other side on the right are all thickos. I don't know anything about Eike Batista but of course, you pick out a another right-winger in Berlusconi who is "rich and dumb". Nobody from your side of politics is like that, are they!

I'm more interested in this type of wealth building...

The Clintons' net worth in 1992 was 700,000 dollars. Fast forward to 2017 and it's 240 million dollars.

The Obamas’ net worth in 2007 was 1.3 million dollars. Now it's estimated 24 million dollars.

The Trumps' net worth has dropped from 3.7 billion dollars in 2016 to 3.1 billion dollars today.

No I mean just that, have you seen a MAGA rally?

There isnt quite the quite and stoic dignity of the struggling working class at a MAGA rally.

To appeal to the baying mob at a MAGA rally, you kind of have to be putting out a bunch of low brow guff tinged with xenophobia, fear of socialism, and a strong "us against the world" rhetoric.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

I wouldnt agree that I have a lot of bitterness inside me, and that I "envy" Donald Trump.

I just believe Trump is a train wreck as a president and is doing terrible harm to the fabric of American society.

I live here permanently, have lived all over the States, and have been here for over 15 years, so perhaps I am a bit closer to the issue than you, PengeEagle, with your short lived stay in the bubble in LA.

If that makes you an expert on all matters American, then I guess you qualify?

No need to start throwing insults around, as you often seem to do, more than happy to discuss the matters at hand in a calm way.

Waking up as Trump one morning would actually be my worst nightmare. Like most bullies I think deep down he is unsure of himself, desperately cares what people think about him and is pretty unhappy in his life.

I think the question here was on Trump's mental aptitude. I think we need to look into the oranges there.

Just as an aside on the issue of bullies I think this concept of why someone bullies is part wishful thinking.

It's certainly true that bullying can and does come from unpleasant environments. However, this negates the reality that some people are also naturally more aggressive or driven/selfish than others leading to tendencies that result in bullying without a bad home life being the cause.

Many people who bullied at school for example, grow up and look back with regret at some behaviours without the excuse of bad parents.

Essentially....yeah lots of kids bully because it's an expression of problems at home......but it's also true that some kids are just nicer than others.

But judging all Trump voters by that criterion would be the same as saying all Hilary supporters were all Antifa mask wearers. This sounds like confirmation bias.

I dont think all Trump voters are that type of person.

So you insult half the population of the USA as “slack jawed slobbering rednecks” and go into a character assassination of a guy you have never met and have no idea of his mental health situation. Yet when I point out your wrath and envy (two of the Seven Deadly Sins ), then I'm the one throwing around insults.

I wish people would focus on policy and not personality in politics.

Definitely agree to some of what you say here, Stirlingsays. There are certainly different core reasons and also its very subjective as one man's assertiveness is another man's bullying.

However Trump is a classic bully. One thing he is learning now is you cannot bully Nancy Pelosi, she is too canny an operator for that.

There are little clues in what he does and says that he cares desperately what people think about him, and I honestly believe he is a desperately unhappy person. Unable to command the inherent respect of great heroic figures like McCain or dare I say Mueller, the more he tries to get that love, affirmation and respect, the more he alienates a lot of people, this increases his will to dominate and bully.

My view in general is that most bullies are acting this way because of a usually (possibly) subconscious/somewhat subconscious large inferiority complex and essentially a lack of confidence.

I think Trump thought that being president would finally see him revered, feared, and adored by the nation, but his actions make that impossible.

Bullies project strength and domination of others, as they actually lack strength, and feel fear. Also if you dictate and frame an interaction with someone else with you as the dominant force, you cannot become the submissive one, so you nip that in the bud - perhaps past submissive interactions haunt a bully.

Someone comfortable in their own skin doesn't usually bully people.

Another Barnum humdinger:

“The noblest art is that of making others happy”.

That seems to have gone out the window in the America of 2019.

The only way to insult half the nation, is to have a go at Hillary supporters, as she won 65.8 million votes, to Donald's 62.9, giving her 48.2, to his 46.1%.

Given his shellacking in the mid terms, you really are stretching to call half of this country Trump fans.

However, certainly not all Trump "supporters" are MAGA rally attending loons.

Many millions who voted for Trump did so through gritted teeth, just like Richard Drax on MV3.

No one needs to assassinate Trump's character, Penge Eagle, as he doesnt have one.

Assassinating Trump's character is like pointing out that Sorloth is s*** at football. Its piss easy.

He has the single worst character of any president in the history of the Union, including Tricky Dick.

This thread is called "bias against Trump" so I think the entire purpose is to debate identity politics, amongst other things.

If you dont like that there is a cracking thread going on about Brexit which you might have noticed.
