They dont have to sell, so they can hold out for what they feel is the right value for the player, that coupled with the face everyone needs a decent striker and the stupid amounts of cash sloshing about now.

They'll sell eventually, maybe not to us but to someone. If they have no plans to use him, it makes no sense them hanging onto him for the sake of a few million when he'll cost them that in wages. He must have cost them a million since the entire saga started. It's all just a big game of chicken at the moment.

Seems a bit odd it would be public knowledge and more something that has been created by fans on boards like these? Think it is more the case that even at a cut of the price Liverpool paid for him, say 25m from the 32.5m which is a fair price drop given the amount of games he played last season. That is no longer the price in this market, strikers are hard to come by. Strikers with premier league experience are even harder to come by. Combining that with the new player valuations 32.5m is probably about right. Come deadline day, any of the clubs in the bottom ten of the table still looking for a striker will put an offer in and Liverpool know that. Wouldn't surprise me if he went for over what they are looking for when clubs get desperate. It's all in Liverpools hands there not short in cash and have no rush to sell. Really buying clubs should have sorted this weeks ago to make the most of pre-season and taken the risk. But that is just my two cents worth as it is another quiet day on the Palace transfer front 😀
Another exciting pre-season ....... |
