They would fire them in defence of Germany or Italy? US public would never stand for it The UK view of treaties seems to be that you just walk away from them if they no longer suit you thats how other countries see us now.

It's part of NATO deal whereby non-nuclear states host 3rd party nuclear weapons.

The UK is and will continue to be a pivotal member of NATO, as will the US. The essence of the NATO treaty is that an attack on one member is deemed to be an attack on all, and that includes nuclear attack. So a nuclear attack on a non-nuclear member will provoke a nuclear response. Your comment about how other countries see the UK treaty-wise is such infantile, risible bollocks as to not even merit a response.

What is it with the apologist, CND, soft on crime, lily livered left that they always have to liken any poster who expresses a view they don't like to some other former or current poster who is well know for similar opinions. Sorry fellas, but we in sunny middle England are in the majority and you had better deal with it. And you can shove your pipes of peace where the sun don't shine.

They have them in the UK too, so that is not an argument why we should have Trident. Nobody can explain why 95% of the countries in the world can get along without nuclear weapons and we can't. The US have nuclear weapons in Germany and Italy.

What is that got to do with it? Using your logic I would have thought that would have made them more determined nuclear weapons if they accepted your view that they were essential for defence. The fact is if we got rid of nuclear weapons tomorrow we would be at no greater risk (probably less) and several billion pounds better off.

As far as I can see, the overwhelming majority of the voting public in the UK still perceive him to be unelectable and untrustworthy etc this morning despite how good you think his week has gone. Seems to me that if you surround yourself with back slappers chanting your name and bullying/abusing other members of your political party who don't share your optimism for effectiveness or leadership skills you are like the King with no clothes.
