There is NO evidence for this absurd statement. You cannot back this up. If you don't think that the current version of the Tory party is far right then fair enough. I thought Thatcher was about as far from the centre as they could get but I was wrong. Not as individuals. There have always been far right individual members but as a group. The odd thing is that individually I am far from sure that they all really think like that. The bogeyman here is not even in Parliament and his name wasn't mentioned by anyone yesterday. The shadow of Farage looms long over everything that Johnson and his puppet masters are trying to do. If there is a GE watch for the deal being cooked up between Farage and Johnson, with Trump's encouragement and Putin smiling benignly in the background.

And yet he's outlasted Cameron, May and - it looks like - Johnson! I'm just delighted and slightly astonished the the Tories are falling in to the same mistake they made in 2017.

You are really getting pretty tiresome Oh I regret having to repeat myself as much as anyone else does but unless and until people understand the implications of what a Parliamentary democracy is, what it does and why what Parliament is doing is 100% correct I need to keep saying it. When people understand and accept then there will be no need.

MPs don't seem to realise that the people are sovereign! Of course they are but they pass the duty to make decisions to their elected representatives at every GE. Our job is to choose who represents us. Their job is to do that until we choose someone else.

Johnson's an election winner....if he makes a deal with Farage Labour don't have a chance. Edited by Stirlingsays (04 Sep 2019 11.14am)

Edited by Stirlingsays (04 Sep 2019 11.14am) If nothing else you must accept the governments strategy has now completely backfired. Burning bridges left and right and trying to bully people doesn’t work too well for Trump either but what you saw with the Tory rebels is a set of people with some real backbone - sadly missing in the GOP by and large. I find it amusing hearing right wing toffs talk on sky news about the polls. Ask Hillary and Theresa about polls.
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |

But what those rebels have told Brussels, is that you can screw us right royally because there is now way in the world we will allow a no deal brexit, w hich would be disastrous for both Britain and Europe.

I am a traditional "one nation" Tory who, by the way, thinks Ken Clarke represents all that I value in the party. I also believe in Parliamentary and not direct democracy. Referendums are no way to decide complex issues and can be manipulated by malign influences to suit agendas against our actual interests. Yes of course you are! Ken Clarke is an old dinosaur who should be sent to Dignitas asap
