“That’s a joke son, I say, that’s a joke.” “Nice boy, but he’s sharp as a throw pillow.” “He’s so dumb he thinks a Mexican border pays rent” “ “Son… I say, son, some people are so narrow minded they can look through a keyhole with both eyes.”__ Forhorn Leghorn |

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha wants out' by Midlands Eagle The AWB sale has surely settled the books, so we just have to stand firm and say no to any sale. For all his detractors, Parish is a big reason why we have Wilf and why we have him tied to such a strong contract and unless they have some kind of gentleman's agreement that he would allow Wilf to go then why should he entertain offers? Instead he should sit down with Wilf and spell out what our ambitions are and his role at the club. If Wilf hadn't signed a new contract last summer to become the highest paid player at the club then I might have some sympathy if he was desperate to play for a CL club, but he did and so will have to accept it if the club say 'no sale'. The reality is that when Wilf doesn't play we look very ordinary and workmanlike. This would not be like selling AWB who as good as he is was not really a game changer for us. As I said before, I'm not 100% confident he'll stay, but I will bloody gutted if he doesn't.

It likely one day we say goodbye to Wilf again. If it is the arse, and someone has Parish's ear, please do not take Jenkinson as a part payment. They have been trying to get rid for ages and I believe that we have been linked more than once. No-one including the arse seems to want him. Edited by Chubskip (29 Jun 2019 12.12pm) Pretty sure he turned down a loan move here a couple of seasons ago. He would be extremely unpopular. He is currently on 45,000 per week as well. Hodgson might be the manager who, inexplicably, gave him an England cap Edited by pssguy (29 Jun 2019 7.59pm)

Who also happens to be his brother. If the speculation is all down to his agent what is the purpose behind it? Will Salthouse is his agent the last I knew.

I honestly initially thought you meant maybe we UNDER rate him because of how ordinary his colleagues are. If Wilf goes to Arsenal and steers clear of injuries, he will become a true great for them, scoring and making loads of goals and bringing them the fight they lack. History will remember him as an Arsenal player.
Arsenal will not challenge for the league in the next 5 years. He won’t be going to a good Arsenal side like Wright did. None of their squad including Zaha would start for city or Liverpool. So they are 11 first team starters away from winning the title. Aubamyang is 30 . Edited by Casual (29 Jun 2019 10.03pm)

Confused. No mate. If I wasn’t clear. I can’t see them challenging for the title , let alone winning it, whilst Zaha is still playing. The top 2 are miles in front, as are Tottenham.

There is no one in that Arsenal side that I would want to see in a Palace shirt, they are bang average. They are worse now than they were when Wenger was at the helm...

This post has been merged from a topic called 'The Wilfried Zaha Thread' by Midlands Eagle This post has been merged from a topic called 'Zaha wants out' by Midlands Eagle Hard not to feel sympathy for Zaha who more than deserves his opportunity to play Champions League football - perhaps selling his sights short by contemplating move to Arsenal and Europa League action and a season for The Gunners that was underwhelming and certainly finished as a damp squib that revealed many a frailty within the team. Reality surely is that Club can't afford to let Zaha go now given sale of Wan-Bissaka and the familiar tale of slow action in the transfer market.
