Who are these youngsters people say Roy should be playing ?
I often watch the U23s, but I don't think I've seen anyone who really stands out as being good enough to be playing in the Premier League.

Whoa whoa WHOA. Didn't you know this is the slating Benteke only thread? Don't want to see any more of this complimenting positive stuff okay.

I have just watched very goal Benteke has scored in the Premier, don't worry it was not a long video.
The thing that surprised me most was the lack of goals scored with his head, most goals were shots inside the box being in the right place at the right time.
That got me thinking that perhaps he is not the big target man I thought he was. He appears to need it to feet in the box and maybe that is where we are going wrong. With Zaha leaving, how about Ayew on left wing and Benteke in the middle.
Also at Villa he wore number 20 (Liverpool no 9). Asuming we have finally offloaded Williams can he have number 20 again, anything to get him scoring.

10 of his 19 league goals with us have been headers. That's a very high percentage. As a comparison Andy Carroll's career figure is 24 out of 53

Well done Beneteke on Saturday for what you did with tackle on Pog and the pass.
He has his strengths and plays better in team without two wingers

He did an identical tackle against Everton which we should have scored from. Must be his new trick.

Makes a change to marking the one of 2 players rather than close down one of them.

FFS, we are really scraping the barrel if a tackle by our 120k a week centre forward needs praising, some goals may be the way forward, four in 53 games doesn't really cut it.

Without Benteke, the match ends in a draw or a United win. But stay focused on goal tallies and continue meowing, the lot of you.

well with only 10 eagles on the pitch, i would agree with you. Occasionally the ball bounces off the back of his head and stops a breakaway towards our goal. Cos he is mostly miles away from the opposition goal.

I have heard from a few people over the last year that watching Benteke in the pre-game warm-ups, he doesn't appear to even be able to strike the ball properly any more. Has anyone else seen this? Would seem to confirm that injury has completely wrecked even the most basic aspects of his game.

Thank you Dean Saunders...

Those are the words Alan Pardew used when signing him for £30m and to be honest, he was absolutely spot-on.

We also need a reality check on Benteke's potential new contract with CPFC.

No way will he sign for the same terms and I don't blame him.

His agent will tell Parish: "Look, he'll hit a few goals if you start playing to his strengths for the first time in years and you'll have a £40m striker on your hands all day long.

"If we can split the difference and you give my client a £20m signing fee coupled with £120K-plus pw, plus bonuses, plus loyalty fee, plus image rights etc.. I think I can persuade Chis to sign.

"Do that or we walk out the door for nothing."

Babgell, I’ve watched Benteke closely over the past few months and can assure you he is finished as a premier or even championship player is concerned. We need to cash in soon and giving him a new contract is a start as we need to get some money back on him .
