And why didn't Boris go to a private hospital with his Healthcare plan ? No doubt he has one. So why did he go to an NHS hospital, and why not one of the Nightingale ones ? I bet he had a ventilator on standby. Personally, I would have put a "Do Not Resuscitate" sign on his bed. I'm sure they wouldn't do that to you, your wife or kids. Still they arnt as valuable to us as boris so

Just back from my walk, Wisbech looks like it's back to normal.

Sweden up to 650 dead. Higher rate per million than Norway and Denmark. Apparently they have a health agency which is untouchable by politicians. The public trust them but there isnt much science to their decisions.

Cases are lower though so up to now it can be argued Sweden’s strategy of social distancing and no lockdown is working better in Scandinavia than lockdown. Why there’s more deaths per million people we don’t know yet. Bad luck or treatment? Age groups infected?

I had a requirement to visit my local 'Waitrose' this afternoon and joined a queue outside the store. The weather was warm with the sun beating down.A Waitrose employee was deployed to hand out free bottles of water to those who wanted some refreshment in the heat.Later a gentleman deployed on the door to the entrance walked alongside the queue with umbrellas in a box enquiring if anyone wanted to borrow one to act as a shield against the sun.

This virus will kill people based upon cultural practices, with the added observation that some jobs are obviously safer than others. Don't get me wrong, if we could live life like this I wouldn't mind it. It's no skin off my nose. However, the price of what we are doing is world recession and that's going to kill a lot of people...the vulnerable again. All this 'curve' stuff.....what do you think is going to happen when they send people back? Infections are going to rise....What then, go back into lockdown? In and out all the way till a vaccine? In my view....and I respect your opinion, whether we differ or not. In my view Sweden took this on the chin, and while their deaths will rise, herd immunity will mean that they come out the other side far quicker. As they are European (well majority anyway) and their cultural behaviours are similar I think the end number of deaths probably won't be all that different to similar countries...with the caveat of how good their health system is. But the difference will be that they didn't spend god knows how much money pretending that that they could be King Canute and hold back the virus wave.....that means far less economic pain for them. I'm worried that when they send us all back to work....that they are going to say it's ok for the vulnerable and elderly to go back to normal.....When I just don't believe it is safe....not until the vaccine anyway. But the rest of us....We should be taking our chances as we have done all the way through history.
