You have no idea, look at some of the names on the petition.
The HF have turned themselves and the Palace in to a laughing stock throughout the English football supporting world.
And as for a ,"singers section" at Selhurst Park, that's just plain embarrassing.
So all in all,you really are talking undiluted cobblers,in my opinion.

Yes there are clearly fake names on that petition but as stated, this is just one part of the jigsaw.
Maine Eagle has written a very succinct post, very balanced in it's approach and doesn't appear to be taking sides. Others clearly agree with this. Or are we all Brighton fans in disguise carrying out our sinister plot to try and improve the Selhurst Park atmosphere!?
As for the singing section being an embarrassment, I imagine Parish and the HF have something akin to the "Yellow Wall" of Dortmund in mind, doubt you will find many fans who think they are embarrassing? I understand that your view of the singing section is that it is contrived, which admittedly would be embarrassing however I see it differently. The HF have pushed for this, therefore it is fan led (although i'm sure you will probably argue that they are not fans) so therefore not contrived.
Don't get me wrong, I do feel sorry for those being displaced, it has been handled very poorly by the club but I do believe it is for the greater good.

Yes clearly some fake names on there, repair man. Some real ones too though.

There are many times I have thought we were a laughing stock. Not having a fit striker at the club. Our schoolboy approach to transfers. Frank De Boer, to name but a few. Having the HF banging a drum, singing and waving flags, and spending some cash to create displays, is not one of them.

To your other post about glory hunting, what glory?

Singing section may not be everyone's cup of tea, totally agree there. However do you think the atmosphere has been a bit s***e at home this year? If you do agree, was it your idea to fix the problem? Perhaps you dont agree? Are you ok with the atmosphere at home this year? Maybe you dont see this a problem at all?

Why do I call it a problem? Because rival players (Alex McCarthy is one) have said it makes it easier to come to Selhurst. Add to that our own chairman, voicing the view of our manager and entire playing staff, that they all agree that the atmosphere and noise level at home games this year is a problem serious enough to be debated all over the shop by anyone and their wife.

Welcome return of the cobblers! I feel honoured once again

Speaking of Cobblers I have been to Northampton town and their ultras are only so so.

Cheers Lumsdero.

This debate is very reminiscent of politics in the United States of Trumpistan lately.

There are 2 sides, and they absolutely cannot and will not compromise or see the other sides viewpoint at all. It is black and white, them and us. With us or against us.

As I said before I hate to point this out but Crystal Palace FC is a business. In business the greenbacks win over sentiment, all day long every day. That is even without Parish having to answer to a couple of yank billionares on such matters.

Parish has only 1 option here, he has handled this in a seriously p&ss poor way, but thats because he usually cant organize a p&ss up in a brewery. However the fact remains that the HF are as much a marketing tool as they are a group of fans, especially in the global markets like over here.

The Seattle Seahawks of the NFL became one of the best outfits in the league on the back of their "12th man" wall of noise home atmosphere. Yanks lap this stuff up like so much chocolate milkshake:

I like you.

Worst thing is, a lot of the HOL will be up in arms coz you aint a 'TRUE/LOYAL' supporter, coz you don't attend every home & away game going . . . Regardless of where you live or are from( I had this).

I like your take on this matter & how it upsets lots of the HOL, because they cant be bothered to actually READ your posts before posting themselves.

I might even get carded now by the HOL 'Stasi'

There was a post from way back in this thread citing one of our players who hadn't noticed that the much heralded HF had gone

I did see that but what else could they have said? "Yeah it was obvious they weren't there, the atmosphere was poor without them". I doubt that would have gone down well with those who attended. Or perhaps they were telling the truth? In which case they need their ears testing!

No problem, that's a really good comparison.

I think it's awful how the Block E fans have been treated. In no way shape or form are any of them any less of a fan because they don't shout and sing as vociferously as the HF do. I don't think SP does either.
But as you have pointed out, at the end of the day it is a business and business prevails over loyalty in this day and age.

I don’t know about anyone else but I’m starting to find the whole business incredibly tiresome.

Wife beating may be socially acceptable in Sheffield, but it is a different matter in Cheltenham

Ha ha

We have been lauded by all and sundry nationally for many years now so why is it so hard to believe that that many abroad wouldn't be aware of us?
Why are you continually so bitter?
