And who is to blame for that...The Manager!!!

Not really, he can only play the cards that dealt out by Parish/Freeman, they are the one's who should be blamed!

So you’re saying Roy cannot play Zaha on the right and Townsend on the left at any point in a 90 minute match? What’s in Roy’s cards that says he can’t? While we’re at it, why do we only attack teams at Selhurst once all of the opposition are behind the ball, and then predictably offer no threat whatsoever? This happens several times a match.

There’s several to blame in all this.

The owners, Roy, Benteke, Zaha, although I feel his frustration when we plan to keep Benteke the wardrobe.

I do not disagree with anything here, what I am saying is that Roy has never really been supported in any of the recent transfer windows and he has had to put up with what Parish/Freeman can dish up and frankly that is not very much. His options are limited by the players he has at his disposal. He really cannot be blamed for trying to make a silk purse out of a sow's ear!

True. But he could play some other than 4-4-2 with players played out of position. There are other formations that suit them better.

I didn’t count Man U before the match and I don’t aftdr as it’s a almost a completely different sport. Great great result though obviously. Usual business next week.

Sorry to disagree but Roy has more cards in his hand if he chose to use them but he wont. He sticks to the same old line up week after week and does not use his subs to change a game...UNTIL TODAY when we saw what can happen when he decides to use his subs earlier. He went against the grain today and I would say woke up from his normal sleepy mode and did what most managers do and that is change the game.
Roy has younger players that he could use that we saw in pre season who I thought are worth a chance to play in the first team. But he wont it is always his favourites in the same old set up.
Lets hope he learnt something today and starts changing things around in the next few matches.

Supported Palace for over 69 years since the age of 7 and have seen all the ups and downs and will probably see many more ups and downs before I go up to the big football club in the sky.

Given this is the Benteke thread credit where credit is due, it was his excellent tackle on Pogba that won us the ball for the winning goal. His most telling bit of football for a while.

The pre-season was far from being termed as great, clearly he did not think we had the young talent that currently are to the standard required for PL otherwise as a manager with his knowledge and experience he would be selecting them, especially so, as the squad is fairly ancient and limited in talent for this league despite the win yesterday.

Exactly.

Without Benteke, the match ends in a draw or a United win. But stay focused on goal tallies and continue meowing, the lot of you.

Hence the reason you use a couple of the better youngsters. With his knowledge and experience he would be putting out better teams each week as he did against Man Utd which proved IF he thought about it we could be winning more often instead of putting the same old starting 11 he normally puts out with I might add he has NO plane B when things go wrong.
Yesterday he actually used his subs earlier than he normally does to his benefit and it changed the game. Perhaps there is still some space in his head to learn some new tricks??

Who were the youngsters? I thought there was only Mitchell and Dreher that looked capable of making the step up and they are both injured?

I would love to see him play to our strengths and stop with his trying to put round pegs into square holes constantly.
