It is widely accepted, that Russia waged a massive campaign to bring Trump to power. That is no conspiracy theory old chap. It is written in the Mueller report.

Putin openly said as much.

The question is why. There are many theories as to why they desperately wanted to see Trump become president, and attempted to undermine and disrupt the Clinton campaign.

One day, those motives will be fully and completely understood.

Could you link to this, because I haven't heard that and If that isn't just partisan democratic stuff you're talking I might learn something.

And their ratings tanked to the lowest of the year when the Mueller report showed no Russian collusion. An audience built on anonymous sources and satire plus Rachel Maddow crying.

Journalism is not based on ratings.

You are falling into the Trump trap here of conflating ratings somehow with worthwhile reporting.

If slack jawed MAGA hat waving goons prefer Fox (even with Donna Brazile who they detest) and that sycophant MAGA rally attending propaganda peddling Hannitty, the anti gay white supremacist ultra right wing Ingraham, or the child rape endorsing, woman shaming, pathetic little lying twerp Carlson, so be it.

You seem to know a lot about America and its media - do you somehow get an illegal stream of Fox news and watch Hannitty every night in Beckenham?

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Not sure what you mean specifically, but there is even a lengthy wiki page on Russian meddling in support of Trump, and to hurt Clinton.

I've already said they preferred Trump to Clinton. One obvious reason is that Clinton wanted more involvement in Syria and spoke about creating air no go zones over it.

Trump on the other hand had spoken about normalising Russia relations.

The affect of Russia's interference isn't know. It shouldn't be overlooked that.....though I didn't see it on this Wiki article....Comey said in 2017 that the GoP computers had also been hacked.

The democrats had and spent far far more money than Trump did on the 2016 election.

They also had most of the Broadcast media......There is no way that Russia could even touch that influence.

I think you are snatching at rainbows here.

What is important is that there was no Russian collusion by Trump and that was a huge Democratic conspiracy theory run by them and their activists for two years.

From reading this Wiki page I'm not getting a balanced sense of their editing and omissions and as I suspect that when it comes to politics Wiki is pretty much a far left run partizan organization nowadays.....I have respect for the original aims of its creator but not for what it's become politically.

I use to donate to them but I stopped two years ago once I noticed it happening.

Just out of interest, what news source or media organizations do you actually trust, if any? Please dont say Fox news!!

As I said I feel that the true motivation behind Russia's extensive support campaign for Trump will become known one day. You may well be correct that Trump's "America first" nationalism and protectionist non globalist outlook might just have done the trick there.

The affect is not quantifiable, but there was clearly an effect to the Russian's extensive and far reaching efforts.

That's a good question.

I've given up on the main news outlets as their funding systems make any attempt at objectivity a waste of time. I use to rely on the BBC until they gave up on being impartial....which was a gradual process.

So I tend to listen to both sides and read between the lines.

The only news source that I regularly listen to and trust the most is Tim Pool.....but he's often just on America politics.

But even Tim Pool plays to his audience on choice of stories.......So essentially I'm saying that the search goes on.

Most of the media today are little more than money whores...fighting for clicks and writing anything to please their wage payer......Finding an objective journalist has become an exercise in panning for gold.

Just to look at one part of this, there are individuals hosts here and there at the big networks, who still have credibility in my view.

Chris Wallace and Shep Smith at Fox
Ari Melber at MSNBC
Cuomo at CNN

You learn to spot very quickly when people are going too far, Morning Joe for example go way too far down the never Trumper line.

All opinion players on Fox prime time are peddling state propaganda, plain and simple.

Don Lemon and Maddow often do the same in the other direction.

Was not aware of Tim Pool, based on his twitter he is a big Bernie fan. Feel the Bern.

Why do you smear people's character because you don't agree with their politics? It's pretty nasty stuff how you describe these people.

Well I lived in LA for two years up till last summer so I watched all the cable networks, where there is virtually zero unbiased reporting on US TV. At least Fox does criticise Trump on occasions and are open to the fact they are right wing. CNN on the other hand have the audacity to tell us they are impartial!

He doesnt know where his own father was born.

This will take me a long time to get over.

The oranges of Trump's father are in the BX, but he keeps saying he was born in Germany.

Who does that? Is he senile?

Chris Cuomo asks the most stupid questions and his 'ding dongs' with Kellyanne Conway are cringe at times. I think Jake Tapper is pretty unbiased and the best of CNN.

Bernie said yesterday on MSNBC (I think) that he will half prescription charges across the US. The host did not ask how this would be paid for! That's negligent journalism.

Tucker Carlson is good on Fox, and having listened to him outside of the network, he is a smart guy. His recent book 'Ship of Fools' is on my list. Sean Hannity is always worth watching but is too close to Trump to criticise him.

Trump's been a bulls***ter all his life. You are outraged now about this?

He also calls China 'jina' and says 'yuge' instead of 'huge'. It's quite funny!

Forget for one moment that so many Americans invent some kind of heritage that doesn't exist to make them sound authentic...

He's 72 years old so you have to give an old man a little bit of leeway.

Why can't we have a 'Fox' for British TV? It's wall to wall left wing or neo liberal viewpoints.

The media have airbrushed huge demographics out of broadcast media using their elitist hold of the megaphone.

They are not a reflection of the society they are meant to serve. They are a reflection of the left/neo liberal middle class.

They deserve a voice.....but not to be the only voice.
