Hopefully come the January window Man City will be sitting on top of the PL with a healthy points margin, still in all of the cups & wont be thinking of strengthening until the summer window comes around again. Cant say the same about either Chelsea or Newcastle though. Originally posted by PatrickA

Accepting our limitations, this has been a pathetic window. A goalkeeper to replace another one, an injured youngster and and a bang average defender for cover, not to mention losing our best player with no replacement. No striker again? Seriously?

I hope that a one million pound centre half regains his form but that really doesn't impact on our continuing failure to sign a goalscorer or the other holes in the squad. When you look at it, Clyne and Ward are barely adequate. Ward had a shocker against Brentford. If Franca had been fit and we actually signed a decent striker instead of all the usual last minute stuff, then things might have look different. As it is, only Lerma is currently looking progressive.

I feel very positively toward what Steve Parish achieved for this club, but this window is treading water. My ambition as a supporter of Crystal Palace is to see progression on the field and the stadium rebuild commence as planned. I'm looking forward to the Wolves game and any sign that we are better than last season. As yet I have seen nothing to suggest that. Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (03 Sep 2023 11.07am)

Edited by Hrolf The Ganger (03 Sep 2023 11.07am) It would be nice but I must admit my expectations are lower. Have they improved the toilets? Shocking.....mind you that was about a decade ago.

The Arthur Waite toilets are a constant focus of fan disapproval. I am of the mind that low expectations among fans will hold the club back. Steve Parish has admitted that he does what he thinks is right regardless of fan criticism so perhaps there is a need to shout a little louder.

Well, he certainly jumped when the Ultras said how high didn't he.

Mods, are we able to close this thread now??? It never was ‘News’ in the first place and after all the false promises of who we would sign and the absolute debacle of saying Wilf had re-signed and was about to be announced and also that Lewis Hall had signed, this thread did nothing but serve to mislead and provide mis-information. Hopefully this nonsense won’t be given the time of day for the next transfer window.
