why don't you both keep schtum or carry this argument on over PM. It's just going to elevate into a full scale argument and I for one certainly don't want to hear it when there's more important things to be concerned about!

Most football teams are temperamental.

That's 90% temper and 10% mental.

GROUP CLAIMS ATTACKS

A terror group linked to al Qaeda says it carried out a series of terror attacks on London that have left a number of people dead and hundreds injured.

A previously unknown group calling itself "Secret Organisation al Qaeda in Europe" said it carried out the attacks as revenge for British "military massacres" in Iraq and Afghanistan.

since when have we 'cozied up' to extremists ?

Whern they've washed the blood off the streets, start blaming people. Until then shut the f*** up.

Come and say that to my face, you little turd.

Grow up. Why is this excitable child allowed to be a mod, when he exhibits such childish behaviour at a time like this.

Childish, eh? You don't know the meaning of the word. If your only contribution to this is to come out with cr*p like that, then you are a pathetic individual. Stick to the debate like everyone else.

Get someone to help you find your dummy

Why don't you just give it a rest. You are not helping with these petty retorts.

People are hurt and dead out there and you are on here trying to get in the last word. Amazing!!!!!!!

Unfortunately I don't think you could ever stop this kind of cowardly attack - too many people in a confined space, bags and stuff all over the floor. People leave casses behind all the time by accident (I know I've done it in the past). I worked up here during the IRA campaigns and I was surprised they didn't use the method then.

The security services have done a cracking job keeping them out for this long (how many other plans have been thwarted, both publicised and not?)

Best thing we can do is clean up the mess, dust ourselves off, and crack on - show them we won't be broken!

not really the time to be fighting dont the both of you think?

Clearly and well thought out terrorist attack, my thoughts are that maybe this was sposed to happen yesterday, but due to the large police presence in london was put off. Obviously a plan to get the people out of the tube onto the busses, then blow the busses up. Surley at a time like this our thoughts should be with the friends and families if the hurt and injured and not with bickering amoung one another

As Danny Butterfield wheeled away, arms aloft in celebration of his third goal – an expression of delight and astonishment on his face – a man seated beside me in the stands turned to his young son and told him that he would remember this moment for the rest of his life. I will too.

With regards to people saying that this is something that could've been avoided, I'm sure there have been many attempts at this in the past. These however, have been foiled before explosions have occurred and the information hasn't been relayed to the press for fear of scaring the London public unnecessarily.

The emergency services and Scotland Yard don't just act when these things occur. They are most likely preventing them all the time. They are doing work to make sure they don't culminate in explosions. The only way this country still functions as normal is that we don't know about it.

Unfortunately this one has managed to happen, but as someone has said, it can be very difficult to prevent some random nutter making their own bomb and walking onto a packed bus.

As it turns out, not a random nutter; more like a planned and orchestrated campaign.

Either way, I'm sure it's not the first that's been attempted. In a sense you could say that the Tube is an organised attack. But why one bus? Why that particular bus? Why not more?

Could it be that, if it was a suicide bomber, it was someone who knew about the other attacks and decided they would do there bit? If so, it's difficult to stop that person from doing it. Then again I suppose they knew that by doing just one bus would be enough to stop all buses in the city.

However, I'm just speculating, which is probably a bad thing, though not easy to avoid in such circumstances. Let's just hope the severity of this event is as minimal as can be and that the emergency services are able to find out who did it and catch them.

People,

I understand everyone is distraught that this has happened but I don't think we need to scare people further...... let's keep to the facts that we know.

The emergency services are in control now..... this is no time for blame, a time of mourning and then a time to decide how we approach the dealing of this terrible moment in our country's history.

Another package has been found at East Croydon. Goerge Street has been completely shut off, and we've been advised to move from the windows.

Here here! We beat the fascists against all the odds and our spirit should remain unbroken.

It is scary and horrible - but they will not beat us.
