Chelsea have agreed to sell Maatson to Villa for £40m.
I feared them selling players as will soon have funds to get around FFP rules.

Olise is a great player but is not quite the finished article. He would be in a much stronger position for his big move if he stayed with us for one more season.

The reason so many players fail at say Moan United is the fans expect too much too soon. Players aren't allowed to bed in. Already they are moaning about Hojlund and want him out.

That would make more sense than going to Chelsea. Have any of the clickbait articles mentioned why he'd want to go there after turning them down last year?
In his position his best career move is probably to stay with us to see how things work out, he seems to be enjoying our new way of playing and is already on good money.
From his perspective if things don't work out he'll have no shortage of suitors during every window.

Yes, a reminder that he did spend 7 years in the Chelsea Academy (2009-2016). He's clearly not as attached to Chelsea as is Gallagher but it may always have been his hope that one day he would return there.

Why did he refuse last year? Possibly because he feared he would get little game time with all the other new players that had arrived or were arriving. His goal involvement stats in 2022/23 were good on the assist front (but mediocre on the scoring side).

Although he had a truncated season with us in 2023/24 his goal involvement stats are such as make him a serious PL goal threat and he will expect to start ahead of Madueke and others on the left with Palmer moving into the No 10 position where he should thrive as well.

Finally, let's also not forget that, like us, Chelsea ended last season well.

...and then sacked their manager.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

So, according to click bate, how many clubs have we now sold him to?

I suspect there may be rules on selling the same player to a fistful of clubs.

Michael Olise
Mike L. Olise
Michael O'Lise.
Mike Eloise A.

A dubious number of players sold for large sums...

He's a left back who was on loan at Burnley when they won the Championship and then last season was on loan at Borrusia Dortmund and played in Champs Lge final against Real Madrid (made mistake for their second goal).

I think most people have heard of him and is highly rated.

I'm sure it's pure lack of awareness on my part EE - it's enough trying to keep up with Palace and I don't pay much attention to other clubs anyway.

Bit annoyed I cant remember who reported it about half an hour ago but there was a very small piece on my web browser saying basically that despite reports to the contrary, Crystal Palace have not offered Michael Olise a new contract as it would set a president for any of Palace's other in demand stars that are attracting interest currently.
This would make sense when you think that he was happy with the new and improved contract he was given last summer and has hardly played since then. He could also return from the Olympics injured. It happened a year ago with the French U21s

Seen this 'pop-up' says Caughtoffside is the source . . . [Link]

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.
