All the teams below are playing as if they have got a chance of survival. We are now 6-1 to go down compared with 20-1 a few weeks ago I have been particularly impressed with Forest in the past two games. Without that atrociouus Boly decision they would probably be ahead of us already. Their forward play has been a diamond of Gibbs-White, Hudson-Odoi, Elanga and Wood. We have Eze, ?, Olise and Mateta so we could do with a left-winger with pace to match them come January Everton played well at the weekend despite losing and are clearly better than us so we may need Fulham and Brentford to maintain their poor form to help us out The new managers at Forest and Wolves seem to be helping their clubs so that might be a point in favour of ditching Hodgson. On the other hand Forest look better now Cooper has left so his stock may have fallen

Despite their difficulties this season, Cooper was respected and liked by the supporters to the end.He secured promotion for them after joining them when they were second from bottom that season and they appreciate the challenges he faced having to manage a large squad with 29 players purchased during their first season back in the PL.

We are the only PL team without a win in our last 5 games. Can not see that improving today at Stamford Bridge. Palace were inspiring the last 20 minutes against Man City, still Roy keeps the old guard playing the same boring stuff. 3-0 to Chelsea....

Other teams have realised that a win gets as many points as 3 drawn games. Someone should tell Roy Hodgson. I'm looking at the fixture list and it doesn't ease off. We'll be playing teams that are above us and obviously better sides, but also a few teams that who are below us yet now picking up some form and points. These games will turn into 6 pointers.

I don’t know why we even complain anymore.

Luton are showing a lot of character and in Ross Barkley have a real quality player pulling the strings. They have a few games coming up that they have a very good chance of getting some points from if their good form continues. Sheffield Utd still look awful. Forest have the resources. Everton have a squad built for a scrap. If we could could get a win tonight it would make a huge difference. We'd leapfrog a couple of teams and then if we could beat some points out of Brentford we could go into the New Year on a golden pony. Lose both games and the mild positivity built up from the last few games will evaporate and said pony will be heading for an Iceland lasagne.

All this debate about the prospects of relegation is certainly no malarkey or blatteration and the lugubrious comments reflect the fact that there is genuine concern about our prospects. A good result at Chelsea tonight will not totally allay these concerns but might engender a modicum of optimism.

Ha ha ha. you keep on banging on about Nketiah, are you his agent? Edouard is a better player this season, and he plays for Palace, who create few chances. Nketiah plays for league leaders Arsenal, work it out yourself. More rubbish, Edouard and Mateta are Poor CFs, you have to move a bit, make some runs, in a midfield of Ayew/Franca, Eze and Olise he would get 20+ goals, undoutably, E & M about 10/12

You reap what you sow... Unless we have a miracle January spending spree then relegation is the grim possibility as the squad is just not good enough after years of winging it. Hopefully Parish has had a visit from Jacob Marley over the Christmas break.
