Well. Done You. You've finally managed to bring another thread round to Brexit. It's done, it's over, get over it, remainers lost, end of. Nope. Not discussing Brexit. That’s done, as you say. That though doesn’t mean that you cannot look at the current mess and attribute the reasons for it. The pandemic and Putin’s war have been major contributors but so has the failure of Brexit. Negotiating more sensible arrangements cannot happen too soon.

So the British were the first to outlaw slavery, lost several thousand British sailors attempting to stop other nations from continuing with the trade, yet I am meant to have remorse at my ancestors possibly benefiting from slavery, rather than being proud and celebrating that we got rid of it. What you wrote was “Our culture used to include slave ownership; I miss those times. Apparently I should feel ashamed and not honour it.” Nothing there to suggest you were proud of being the first to outlaw it, which is something we all can be proud of. None of us should take any pleasure from the knowledge that our forefathers benefited from regarding other humans as animals. Understanding the culture of the time is different. We all learn and they did. Let’s hope that you are included in that.

That's my point. What community is anybody part of? Life has moved on from Ealing comedies. Almost everyone is in some way. Only the very isolated and lonely aren’t. I am part of a community within my family, at my bowling club, the wider bowling world locally as I am also an official, in my neighbourhood where we cooperate and organise things and in my membership of various group within U3A.

Well, great. If the Secretary of the bowling club tells you to stop committing hate crimes you'd better listen. As had bowlers all over the country.

What a pathetic argument. Brexit has nothing to do with the multiple issues caused by mass immigration. The primary messaging about Brexit was to stop, or at least reduce immigration. Unless I am completely mistaken the exact opposite has happened. Not only that the source of the immigration has shifted from being focussed on Eastern Europe to Africa and Asia. Which must be, for those who feel importing people from Europe is culturally more acceptable than from Africa or Asia, a bitter pill to swallow. Illegals are a significant problem but contribute only a relatively small number to the total.

Just be proud we learned to be more responsible and to treasure every human.

I hold as much sway within our club and the wider bowling community as anyone else and wouldn’t get involved in cultural matters. That’s not the remit. In some instances leaders can and do. Especially religious leaders.,

You only mention something when it suits you & then decry it when you get called out. You're a fake & a troll. Go away.
This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise. |
