This was obvious and in order to mitigate it we needed wide cover. We needed it even when we had Wilf. Ayew's injured too so our entire wide play is reliant on Schlupp or players Roy won't use. Good planning.
My immediate thoughts are about players like Elanga, but of course could have even been cheaper, like Hudson Odoi. Oh well.
You live and learn, or if us - you just ignore the learning.
Look at what we used to be like when Wilf was injured. Did that not suggest something?

Yes, reminds me of Roy's first season when we only had 1 'striker' in Benteke and a week after the transfer window closed he got injured.
I remember SP implying everyone was being too pessimistic at the time - something like "and the sun may not rise tomorrow" - then a week later the only striker we had gets injured.
Even in the next Jan transfer window, so 6 months to scout a striker, we panicked and bought in Sorloth at the last minute.

As you say we are just ignoring the learnings.

you need to upgrade to Woods', that way you'll look forward to getting Covid

Roy at his press conference today didn't indicate Olise's injury setback is anything major. He said both he and Franca are on track to play "fairly soon". Guehi and Ayew are both fit.

great news. Hamstrings are always a difficult injury - you never know if they are 100% healed until you test them.

It appears Palace were being careful with his progress so any set back is, hopefully, only minor.

Ahamada injured now as well. We desperately need Olise back and Franca proving he deserves a place in the first 11.

Didn't Olise have a grade 1 tear, which is the worse type I believe.

Players have to be really careful with hamstring injuries as they can easily go again.

Michael Owen has never same player after he started getting hamstring injuries.

So best to give Olise enough time as possible.

Roy said he'd caught his studs and sprained his ankle.
He didn't say that depending on the severity he could be out for a few weeks.

He twisted his ankle, 2 weeks max. & since when has he been paramount to our matchday squad?

Olise & Franca, are both back on the 'grass' & following individual training programs.

This operation, will make the 'Charge Of The Light Brigade' seem like a simple military exercise.

Didn't Olise, do his hamstring, the last time but one with the French U21's?
