Wilf was one of the main reasons I became a Palace fan. Despite his in-game antics, I've always felt he was a hard working, dedicated, generous, and humble representative of the club.

I worry about his injuries, though, most of which can't be managed by training harder and smarter. He's one of the most fouled players in the league not because, like Ayew, he's clever at keeping the ball close to his feet and turning a touch into a foul. Zaha gets fouled - HARD - because it's the only way some defenders can stop him.

Even as he has lost pace, he remains a huge threat. So too will lost time remain a large threat to him and his club. Because of this I fear we can't afford to keep him.

Assists, like Olise has 11 this season, and Wilf has 9 in the last 4 seasons

There is an enormous difference between the number of chances created during a game & the number of assists which actually lead to a goal being scored -

I agree totally! And the reason why it's such a poor return? I suggest it's because Wilf too often made the wrong choice either because he didn't trust the strikers or because his first thought was to try and beat his man irrespective of whether or not a team-mate was in a good position to have a crack at goal if the ball had been passed to him.

Really, 60k more than any other player, one who is past his best and injury prone, its ridiculous.

I guess he has time on his side to make a decision. Let’s be honest, potentially the most important one of his playing career. He could be waiting to see who the manager will be - so lots to consider. If he stays, it must be with no regrets.

Preseason starts in a few weeks, so all should become clearer by then.
