I think Benitez would be an interesting choice. I get the shopping list of reasons not to like him, but the fact is he has a profile that far exceeds any manager we've had before. He's won the Champions League FFS. Hiring him would be a statement, at least of a kind. This isn't to say I'm backing him for the job...I haven't thought it through...but his presence, particularly if given the tools required, might well be perception-changing.

Sydenham by birth. Selhurst by the Grace of God.

1/4 ON now for Hodgson.

How utterly desperate have we become to kick start us going forward we bring back Roy Hodgson.

12% possession here we come!

It's not fair enough. If Roy returns as a two-month emergency bandage (which, by the way, I'm not saying isn't a good idea) it shows the club has done no long-term planning, no preparation for changing the manager, and is basically reacting to events in desperation rather than controlling them. Since Parish only owns 20% of the club, what needs to happen is that the majority owners should remove him as CEO and hire someone for whom CPFC rather than his own ego is the main motivating factor. Parish has had his day and we're all grateful for what CPFC2010 did but just as managers have a shelf-life, so do chairmen. Parish's leadership of the club for over twelve months now has been woeful, and it's brought us directly to this pass.

It would appear your worries are exactly what has happened. Parish has said that a change was needed but he is not going to rush into finding PVs replacement. As you rightly say Parish has created a lot of these problems himself. I’d be happy to see him move on now.

Roy till the end of the season makes complete sense! It's firefighting mode now and we need to survive.

Usual hysteria baked in quite astonishing abuse for our most successful top flight manager in history - but Roy makes complete sense.

The only thing that matters this season is staying up, now. There is no one better equipped to ensure that for us than Roy. Couple of months, keeps us up, we thank him again and the we regroup in the summer for the next "project manager".

I cannot for the life of me understand the objection. But what is worse is the absolutely astonishing abuse and vitriol people will throw at a guy who did as much for this club as he has.

We're the Arthur over ere!

If Wilf can leave before the end of the season I’m sure he would. Hodgson is the worst possible candidate. I know lots of fans that will be absolutely fuming if this happens.

How did he do with Watford?

Despite any PTSD-esque reactions this. This in one.

Oh for f***s sake

I suppose, being optimistic, we only need 7 to 10 more points to stay up. Which is a really s*** ambition.

I genuinely worry about the 3 or 4 players who are of genuine quality, and whether or not they'd want to be here for a rebuild.
