The narrative was that we really need to strengthen in the January 'Window' and the midfield was one area where additions were needed.
We bring 2 new midfielders to the club and neither has started a game !

But were they what Vieira asked for?

He asked for experience and a striker and didn't really get either

The lack of energy yesterday was pretty strange. Not even lacking a bit, but in most cases letting them pass out with no pressure.

I can only assume the tactics were to play a low block, let them have it and attack when we can.

Also odd to play 2 CM's #, when we have pretty exclusively played 3 under Pat's reign.

Brighton are a really strong team, they have some good players, but its all about the team. Very rarely do any of their players try to beat a man, its all 1 and 2 touch passing with great moving.

Not a red apparently.

I didn’t see it in real time but remember the ‘incident’

A terrible, potential leg-breaker. Not even a borderline case; The whole stud area deliberately placed on the shinbone. If that's not a red card, nothing is.

A definite red card and not even shown on MOTD.

What a crap programme that is.

If my memory serves me well, Vieira mentioned that they had identified the profile of the players required and the specific players but whether Sambi Lokonga and Ahamada were on this list is open to conjecture.

The more they don't start and are only introduced from the bench the more supporters will speculate that these were players foisted on him.

Out of interest, do you know if Freedman works with a select few agents?

Actually that is one area where we were weak. Literally. We were out muscled on one on ones.

Arguably so, but by the time it gets translated on the pitch it's the same old s***. Ironic.

Roy is on record as saying that the squad he had was his best ever. An understated humourist.

Anyway Lanzo, what would you say if PV brought home a finishing position akin to that achieved by RH? Never mind the quality of of the football, as it was awful under RH as it is now under PV, the sole ambition is to tread water and survive another season?
Would PV not be following in the footsteps of RH or do you expect more?

I will be pleased if we just stay up, as i have said many times if PV is still manager we WILL be relegated, i have never seen a team where every player has deteriorated remarkably, i would rather bring Pardew back until the end of the season, he cant waste money, we dont have any

I am not aware of any such exclusivity.

Oh come on you lot stop the moaning.

We had an absolute touch yesterday and we got a point, had one shot on target and had 25% possession at home to Brighton.

We're so s*** I honestly thought we'd get knobbed 0-3 with no shots on target and with around 20% possession so the boyz delivered more than I expected which is a fooking RESULT!

As Steve Parish says "Carry on up the Palace"

Doucoure is fine for Ligue 1, but out of his depth in the Premiership, 22.6m wasted

You say that with such certainty, yet we are in 12th place, with an "easier" run in at the end of the season. I don't think we'll be relegated, not this season anyway. At the beginning of the season I had us to finish 15/1th based on the lack of reinforcements in areas that were obviously weak. Those areas still need some work, full backs in particular. We'll be treading water for sometime yet I suspect, unless something dramatic happens in the boardroom.
Whether PV will still be with us is moot. His problem is that he has in mind a style he would like to see, but can't achieve that here with the likes of Schlupp, Ayew, Eze, Mateta etc. Pragmatism required.
