Its an American business model that has seen the rape of European football clubs . I said it at the time and will say it again , getting Americans on board will only end in tears . Multi millionaires who are investors are not investing for the benefit of the club they are investing to get a return on their money . That of course could go hand in hand with success on the field but you can gaurentee its not something thats factored into the plan . Of course investors expect a return on their money. Now if you or I had multimillions to play with, we might well put some of it into CPFC and not be too concerned about making any profit from it - because we have an emotional attachment to the club. I would say getting Americans on board is preferable to Chinese or Russian money !

Textor has sacked the manager and coaching staff at Moleenbek even though they have just been promoted. Unlike Palace he has full control and this is what you get.
RWDM has decided to terminate the contracts of virtually all members of RWDM's sporting staff, including those of coach Vincent EUVRARD as well as several of his assistants. The club would like to thank Mr Euvrard for his leadership and his relentless commitment to his duties during our successful and historic endeavour to be promoted to the Belgian first class during the 22/23 season. John TEXTOR, Chairman of the club: “I can confirm today that we have made the difficult decision to say goodbye to Vincent and some of his staff members. During his time at the club, Vincent has shown that he is capable of coaching at the highest level in European football and I am confident that he will achieve great success in his career. While our decision takes into account his strong leadership of our club in the most recent seasons, it is also with a view to the future that we are trying to lay a foundation for consistent success in the first class and, ultimately, in Europe.” “Just as we often say we recruit players with a profile that aligns with our vision of success, it is important that we approach team leadership in the same way,” continues Mr TEXTOR, “Our main belief is that cooperation, regionally and globally, between our clubs and our communities, is at the heart of our competitive strategy. Our vision for RWDM is to fully embrace the idea that help can come from all sides. Building further relationships within our family of clubs will help RWDM win. Our long-term vision is to reach championships for Brussels. That is why it is paramount to create a positive environment, provide equal opportunities for all players, have a united dressing room and create perfect harmony at all levels of our organisation. It is my responsibility to ensure such an environment and the changes we have made this season are at the service of these ideals.” Jonathan ALVES, Fred STILMANT and Thierry BERGHMANS will also leave the club with immediate effect. We sincerely thank these gentlemen for their contribution to our club. RWDM will continue to build its base for the first class until the end of this transfer window, and during each transfer window thereafter. The new sporting leadership and staff will be announced tomorrow. Announcements about players will follow in the coming weeks.

Unfortunately Lyon are bottom with 1 point from 4 games and the ultras are very unhappy. His Belgium club RWDM is 11 after 5 games having sacked the manager before the start of the season so keep on eye on them.

Whatever the question is, John Textor isn't the answer.

Textor looking for $200m in equity before an IPO. Source Bloomberg That would be for his multi club venture. Gut feel -- and it could be miles off -- is that he would try to buy full control of Palace. Not my cuppa tea but won't pretend to know much if him

Not my cuppa tea but won't pretend to know much if him I thought this was to bail himself out of his Lyon problems with the French FA. He's having a fire sale over there and some of his backers want their money back. The most likely scenario is that he sells his stake in Palace to prop up the rest of the business. Just my thoughts no facts. Edited by Badger11 (06 Oct 2023 2.19pm)

My gut feeling is that buyers are not put off by Parish but by the ground. Would you buy a fixer upper? If and when we have a new stadium I think the serious buyers will come knocking as the financial risk will be well known. Right now until it has been built there is always the potential that it will become a money pit. Edited by Badger11 (06 Oct 2023 2.37pm)
