So, a load of expensive things that no other club had to do. Pretty sure most large developments in London, whether stadiums or tower blocks, also need to contribute towards these kind of things. I'd be very surprised if Spurs, Arsenal etc. didn't have to spend similar money on similar schemes. It's part of the process.

A truly mind boggling set of demands by planning, the particular strange one, 500 traffic signs required at a cost of £10,000, but they dont want any traffic near the stadium, then another £100,000 to improve cycle access to the stadium, who cycles to Selhurst Park. The amount of doommongering is astounding, considering the same was said of the academy. Don't get it. These things take time. That doesn't mean they won't come to fruition. The only thing holding this up is Sainsbury's, and a CPO has already been mooted to solve that problem. The residents relocation needs to be handled sensitively but ultimately that is nowhere near as big an issue as J Sainos trying to get the most possible out of their little piece of Selhurst.

I cannot wait to come back to this thread twice and highlight all this dross The day the ground is broken. The day the stand is opened. Should have done the same on the academy thread.

With respect, its totally different from the Academy application. There was no; Supermarket blocking – CPO Housing is probably the only unknown and from what I read that is well on the way to being resolved.

Croydon Council being totally skint is nothing to do with it, of course. They've always been supportive of their local Premier League club.

My thoughts are this is a Croydon Council issue and they don't really want a football team. I wonder if Bromley might be better, frankly? It's not like it's set in stone we have to be in Croydon. This upgrade to one stand seems hardly worth the trouble. Move to where someone actually actively wants a Premier League side, instead of always causing trouble for us.
