Edited by Stirlingsays (14 Apr 2022 10.18pm) Plausible deniability and political expediency doesn't mean that no robust evidence exists. It just needs to be slowly, carefully and patiently drawn together and teased out of witnesses. The NY AJ holds the Mueller papers. The IRS hold Trump's tax returns. Affidavits might be resisted, but eventually will succeed. When the time is right, the fans will turn and the brown stuff will fly. Be sure of it. If anything real exists for Biden (and nothing on the same scale is remotely possible) then let due process deal with it. Edited by Wisbech Eagle (15 Apr 2022 11.55am)

And let the Bidens sue the paper for printing false information. That would be a political judgement for Biden. Would he want such a distraction? Maybe, but not while he is in office, I would think. His son might, but he would probably be discouraged from doing so.

It was more the son I meant but it’s an intriguing prospect that a politician leaving office should then sue for all the false information that appeared during his tenure.

I've been hearing rumours that the EU is preparing an embargo on Russian oil that would explode prices at the pump, but is waiting until after the presidential election to announce it... so as not to penalize Macron. Would they do this? It would be highly dishonest and hurt the economy and the working classes generally to a massive extent. It's certainly what Zelensky has been calling for.....We will see I suppose. God knows what countries like Germany would do. For what's it's worth I'll be filling my tank on election night.

Surely it's more likely that Macron would need to agree for it to go ahead, and he won't at the moment. As Le Pen would not only not agree if she won, but would probably try to force a reversal, it makes no sense to even attempt to push ahead with such a controversial policy until after the election. It would just produce heat without actually doing anything. If it went ahead, and I think it remains a big if, it would have to be matched by government interventions to limit the impact together with plans in place for increased Middle East production. We'll see.

I am hearing the EU wont like it if Le Pen gets it. On that alone she would have my vote!

Indeed the EU were last week saying they were going to take her to court over fraudulantly cliaming money under false pretences . Its an historic case thats been going on for years but they just brought it up again to sour the Le Pen campaign . Would be intereting and certainly different if She won but I cant see it . Macron's popularity is nosediving but the French have never been as right wing as Le Pen has been in the past . Her slight move to the centre has got her to the run off but the fear is she will revert to type once elected .

Can't see her winning with that much heat. Yet, even then, voters still find her second most popular out of an unlimited amount of candidates. The issues her party highlight should be taken seriously, but are disregarded as uneducated and far right.

The issues her party highlight should be taken seriously, but are disregarded as uneducated and far right. She's been making steady progress for years now. As the direction Macron seeks will only result in more decline I think the next election will be her moment.
