Beef? Observation. The use of far right is used to deligitimise indviduals and their views. People use fear to elevate their world view beyound others.

Its a political tool. A tool that applies to Telford. Report and act on abuse and you are a ? This identity is worth more than this identity.

It also wasnt a funny joke.

Nothing you've said there has any relevance to my post that 'De Piero doesn't score as many goals as HE used to'.

I have not really commented on any political or serious content in this thread, at any stage but ironically I broadly agree with your follow up response which is only tainted by the fact it's an imagined argument you're having in which you've wrongly assumed my motives to be beyond a pun.

It was a joke, whether you find it funny or not is your subjective opinion, it was just wordplay with no other motive. I seem to encounter that a lot on here but I'm too old to change.

Now Zaha's got a bit of green grass ahead of him here... and finds Ambrose... not a bad effort!!!!

My posts were referencing the use of far right. That was it.

Yeah I get that and again I'm inclined to comment that I agree on some level people tend to think that labelling anything as 'Far Right' is a kill switch for any form of debate they wish not to have as it may challenge their unwavering albeit frequently illogical, standpoints.

My comment was merely confined of the similarity of 'De Piero' to 'Del Piero'. I have no knowledge whatsoever of the individual let alone their views therefore comment was not to that purpose.

Certainly not me!

Dad and I watched games standing on the muddy slope of the Holmesdale Road end. He cheered and I rattled.

It seems GB News have tripped up over their determination to be different. Why am I not surprised anyone else has yet commented on this?

If you present yourself as a reliable broadcaster then you need to behave like one, and make sure that what is said can be trusted.

When your viewers tend to be the kind of people who post here, who are prone to use alternative "news" sources, and to believe conspiracy theories, it is very important that any regular media outlet doesn't spread misinformation.

In view of some recent comments in other threads this is especially pertinent at the moment. A couple of lines from the link makes the point very well:-

"It can be easy - and tempting - to cherry-pick real stats in a way that supports what we already believe.

Now Ofcom seems to be emphasising that, to borrow a phrase, we're all entitled to our own opinion but not to our own facts."

For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally.

If your pomposity increases much more, you will be in danger of exploding - like Mr. Creosote in Monty Python's 'The Meaning of Life'.

I'm not surprised that you would be eager to try and besmirch the fastest growing news channel in Britain.

The Guardian has been trying for some time.

That says it all.
