Wragg though is not just another backbencher. He is both Chairman of the Commons Public Administration and Constitutional Affairs Committee and Vice-Chairman of the 1922 Committee. His word matters. If you don't believe that the suggestion that our Government has been indulging in corrupt behaviour ought to be investigated then we disagree. It's a very serious accusation which someone of his standing would not make lightly. As I said let's see the evidence. For hundreds of years Whips have kept MPs in line with threats and inducements Blair's enforcer Campbell was well known for it. I have no doubt that harsh words were said to the disloyal whether that amounts to blackmail we will see, I expect it will fizzle out to nothing.

Golden Goose! You're having a laugh. More like a sitting duck, now illuminated by the glare of all the stupidity he has created through his own ineptitude. A man who won the election by a massive majority. I know you would like a Remainer in charge.

It has nothing at all to do with the media. Both Trump and Johnson have brought their houses of cards down on themselves by their own hands. Behave honourably, honestly and within the law, and you have nothing to fear. I have personal experience of Johnson telling a lie which has cost me £10,000. Trying to get it acknowledged, let alone rectified is a humongous task, but I am not known as Mr Tenacity for nothing. There may have to be a class action, but I will get my money. I won't go into details. Anyone who wants them can send me a PM. This man deserves to be toast. He is a parody, not a prime minister. Did you lump a tenner on at 1000/1 that we’d be back in Europe by Christmas? You can’t really blame Boris for that.

Responsibility Deficit Disorder is a medical condition. Symptoms include inability to be corrected when wrong, false sense of superiority, desire to share personal info no else cares about, general hubris. It's a medical issue rather than pure arrogance. |

Doesn't the term blackmail come from the Anglo-Scottish borders? It was money given to the robbers (reivers?) to stop them taking your livestock, I think. I could always look it up. Maybe 15/16th Century, "Border Surnames". yes you are right. the payment was in black meal a food source which then became blackmail
Enjoying getting up later and not having someone who knows better than me (apart from the missus of course). |

He won the election by a landslide for a number of reasons, but I suspect it was mainly public exhaustion with Brexit (another effective 3-word strapline to dumb Britain) and because the opposition was led by a throwback commie. Those factors are no longer present and his currency has run out. They need another avuncular, electable puppet who will sit in front of a camera and read from an autocue.
