I do believe we have a work culture which weirdly celebrates toadying and bullying more than it does talent and intelligence, make a country to be proud aof nd you'll start seeing some real patriotism, the care and fellowship doing the rounds atm is grounds for hope. Outside of a few polarised concepts you'd be surprised just how much those in the dissident right and the dissident left agree on....probably as they are both dissatisfied with the system. It's like social conservatives in Islam and social conservatives in the west. On some concepts they sort of agree to an extent....but obviously where they don't it isn't pretty. The further right you go the more authoritarian left on some concepts it tends to get.....which is kind of weird but obvious once you're there. Maybe it happens in reverse I don't know.

This post is very similar to one someone posted last year. Unless I'm having a dejavu moment.

It might not be that much of a coincidence, it's a widely held view that many would call 'truth' rather than left wing activism, the deja vu may be subconscious denial, you agree with everything I say but it leaves a bitter taste.

I think perhaps it's an under statement to say that's stretching it. According with some ideas is not 'everything'. Edited by Stirlingsays (13 Apr 2020 5.45pm)

Maybe it's just me but hierarchy is a requirement in any walk of life. To be real left wing you have to be something of an egalitarian. Funny that you claim not to be then post that. No system is perfect but when a majority are in a good place it's clearly working.

Starmer got a very good review from The Guardian today about Keir's performance in PMQ's v Dominic Raab yesterday. Refreshing to have the signs of some tangible opposition to the current mess in Government.

Refreshing to have the signs of some tangible opposition to the current mess in Government. Asking questions and taking statements apart is his actual job prior to being an MP. The key will be having solutions to issues he highlights. That will answer questions about his ability as the shadow leader. I dont think it will be anytime soon though. I also beleive getting rid of jc's mob is going to be more difficult. RLB is a fly in the ointment. He has to move more central but overall having a bit stronger opposition will mean the tories will have to up their game. Not on the covid as I think that is separate but once we are away from that it will be everyday issues which will show if KS has what it takes. I'm sure though that PMQs will be interesting once boris is back firing.

Just watched the second Raab Starmer head to head at PMQs and it struck me that both men are probably thoroughly decent human beings which is very unusual nowadays
