For those worried about us not bidding enough for Eze (and I was one earlier in this thread) it is being reported that Liverpool had a £10m bid for Lewis turned down by Norwich who are sticking out for £20m. The paper talk is that Liverpool will now look elsewhere.

No-one knows what the post-COVID transfer values should be and there's hardly been a rush to buy Prem or Championship players so far.

Virtually all clubs (whatever league/division they're in) have financial issues.

Let's see what the new week transfer market reveals, if anything.

As for Cahill, he was very much the rock of our defence for much of this season. Which free transfer would you have preferred the club to have brought in instead?

Again which players would you have bought instead of Kouyate and McCarthy for the sums involved?

The anti-Roy brigade need to show us what they would have done over the last 3 years with the money that has been made available for inward transfers. (Forget the AWB money, we were never going to get that for strengthening the squad}.

He can only pick from those Palace can afford, and put under his nose . All of a sudden Batsi, was affordable , Roy said yes please ,it must Christmas.

Palace can’t afford most or they would be here. Why would he go out of his way to make life hard for himself , picking up has beens , and crocks. When obviously better was available.
