Struck with venom and some might criticise Schmeichel for being beaten at his near post.I think De Gea would have tried to stop the ball with his feet. It happened so quickly that I thought it wasn’t a goal, what with the ball coming straight back out again. A helluva shot.

Puel sacked, I’m hearing. Let's hope for the traditional post-sacking 'bounce' against... Brighton and Hove Albion

Puel sacked, I’m hearing. As I work in Leicester I cannot wait for work tomorrow. In fact I might just go now I met up with some Leicester mates before the match and they were moaning about Puel and his lack of tactics
When they kick out your front door. How you gonna come ? |

Some bemoaning Wilf yesterday, took his first really well, sort of composure and finishing we have lacked for a while and as you say gave the 2nd a real blast. Wasn't far off a brace against the Spammers, so great to see him bagging a few. We always seem to up our game this time of the season when we struggle earlier. Only Pard's season went in reverse.

His 'Hat was on a shaky peg' for a while, indeed I said to my wife after yesterday's result that he could be gone before their next game. Heard that Brendan Rodgers has been installed as the favourite to succeed Puel - I will be surprised if he goes there.

After all four Palace goals, the ball bounced back out of the net and over the goal line. Is this a record?

I guess this game nails that Palace is not one of the candidates for relegation. I was 50% predicting / 50% wishing to get min 8 points out of 4 game (Leicester, Utd, Burnley & Brighton) and good to have remaining 5 out of 3 now. This game was also a confirmation that stats sometimes don`t tell the story of a game. Stats seem Leicester heavily dominated the game however there were only few minutes i was stressed. Team was balanced again but appetite for attack was very poor at first half which was stressing. However to be fair, 1-4 score doesn`t tell the story as well but who cares By the way, bouncing back after 1-1 is a good sign and promising for remaining 11 games.

I was a guest in the lounge on Saturday and the match day entertainment was hosted by an ex captain whose name I think was Ally Mauchlen and he announced before the game that there were rumours around that Claude Puel wouldn't last much longer and the word on the Scottish grapevine was that Brendan Rodgers was the one that they were after. I don't see why you think he wouldn't go there as it's a well run club with decent players and the owners back the manager with cash when necessary. A decent manager should do well there
