Think he should retire in the summer, has struggled to make decisions this year with subs and we always seem to make them after we have gone behind instead of when we can all see the tide turning in matches.

We need a manager with top league experience but still with some youth on their side.

Like it did against Wolves?

Roy is a good man, knowledgable manager. He works pragmatically with the players. The players give their all. what more can be done.

Which games exactly in your eyes were boring then?

Newcastle, Saints, Chelsea, Watford (mostly), Wolves (h), Leicester arguably as despite us winning the football was dreadful

Martin Dubravka motm, Alex McCarthy motm, Chelsea were too good on the day for us, Ben Foster motm, we created enough chances against Wolves but their keeper although very good on the day wasn't motm, in the first half against Leicester we were good and tested Schmeichel very well, but the second steadily got worse and we were not good to watch.
Other keeper motm's was gainst Spurs at home Hugo Lloris and away at Everton with Jordan Pickford.

Our only issue is not scoring

He inherited benteke and Wickham was already injured. We need a striker. We have no money

What part of this is roys fault? He’s presented a team that attacks at will but need decent front men.

Yes he fkd up with sorloth but only had 10 m to spend and who knows, that Norwegian club May had accepted 1m up front cos we are skint. Not many teams would accept the money we have available after big January spends in recent years

None of this is roys fault.

My only gripe would be has should make earlier subs but even if that happened I’d bet it wouldn’t have made that much of a major difference

He inherited a £30M striker who scored 17 goals the season before Roy arrived?

I couldn't agree more. It's funny how as soon as we lose a game, the usual crew wants a new manager. It's football - some you win and some you lose.

Who else are we going to get that has the experience and know-how of Roy? Personally, I think we have one of the fittest and most skillful teams I can remember. The organisation of the team is so much better now - not by accident, but by Roy's hands-on approach on the training ground. I think he's done wonders with the options that he has - and when it comes to subs, I reckon Roy's in a better position to know who's fit and performing well than any of the "pundits" on this message board.

We're still hovering around the point-a-game average, which, by the way, might have been better had some clown not sold Murray.

You can blame Hodgson for many, MANY things, and believe me I do, but he is not responsible for Benteke missing sitter after sitter.

It was as if someone had put a curse on, it was painful, chance after chance went begging.

It is RH's responsibility to fashion the chances through his tactical choices and personnel choices. It is the job of any striker at a premier league club to score realistic goal chances more often than not.

I will agree that RH did not seemingly deploy a system to work to Benteke's strengths, but I personally sat and watched him miss countless clear cut goal chances. You cant blame Roy for that.

Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha.

Javier Hernandez (Chicarito) is a terrific finisher !

Yes, he isn’t quick, he isn’t particularly skilful or tricky, but he knows where to position himself and doesn’t miss many opportunities. I would have liked us to have signed him several times in the past. He would be my choice of an ‘older’ player to sort out Roy’s scoring woes.

Can't believe there's even a discussion. Roy has done a perfectly good job with what he's had, would have had us in the top ten if he was able to call upon a decent striker, and may yet get us there or thereabouts even without one.

A couple of additional points...

1. Roy plainly doesn't handle scouting and transfers, Dougie and the chairman do. So even if you don't like Roy, you can't use any perceived failings in the market against him.

2. Who exactly does anyone think we would get instead of Roy? Guardiola perhaps? Pochettino? Mourinho is at a loose end, perhaps him? Oh hang on, my alarm clock has just woken me up....

3, I really do wonder if some people posting on here actually go to the games, or if they do, whether they are suffering with memory issues. We may not always sparkle under Roy, but the football is plainly better than that produced under allardyce and Pulis, who played overtly negative football. Having also had our fingers burnt trying to over play with de boer and Holloway, we finally have a manager who gets the balance about right between defence and attack (ie. about 60/40).

Yeah yeah now let’s talk about the injury he was carrying which we couldn’t afford for him to undertake an op cos we had no other strikers but when we realised he was s***e as a result of carrying that injury we put him in for the op.

Let’s not ignore this small detail eh

Which takes us back to - not roys fault

I Agree, Roy does have to go....to Anfield with the rest of the players.

He then has to come back and carry on with his job.
