This post has been merged from a topic called 'Still in cup ?' by bexleydave For all those fans moaning about Grimsby performance we are in next round. Look at Leicester & Fulham etc .Its not an easy ride in Cup whoever you play even against 10 men .Just win the tie and move on .

Answer is we let their replacements go the day before, stupidly. I wanted rid of Williams, Mutch and Punch too but why not let them play this game then move them on.

Clearly the risk would be if they got injured they would be going nowhere. Also as part of the loan moves etc. the clubs may of wanted them before the Cup games as they are necessarily rocking straight into the 1st teams.
