Selling top players for a club like ours can only mean financial desperation and the acceptance of relegation. Not if the money is invested well in other players. A big if, mind you United are gagging for Wan-Bissaka. English, ties down a spot for a decade, relatively cheap on fee (cf e.g. Fred) and wages (cf any of their players) and Southgate probably won't tire him out/get him injured in summer tournaments. Is he up to 100 million yet?

There are gems out there, trouble is finding them and to be very honest our record of late has been nothing short of disastrous.

Agreed with that but the fact remains if he wants to go we should not stand in his way IMO. Let's be positive and look for a solid replacement. Sure he would be better staying for a further 12 months MU in a mess right now Why?

If AWB wants to leave IMO we should let him go, why keep a player who is unhappy and not being focused on playing for us. Just my opinion, I think our players, on the whole, seem very happy with good morale.

On the other hand, how about asking him to repay some of the faith the club has put in him thus enabling him to become a professional footballer, or asking him to honour his contract?

He won’t be going in the 2019 / 20 season, unless someone pays a massive fee. Let’s face it Ole Solskear the manager will get the Spanish archer before Christmas from Man United...

Positionally he is great, but teams know he is vulnerable if you just push the ball past him. If you look at PvA he is good on the front foot but teams exploited his defensive frailty recognising how strong we are on the right. If we end up with the same situation on both sides then we can wave goodbye to our defensive solidity.
Indeed. I said this months ago and quite likely to get to Wilf seeing AWB go higher.

No, because having money and attracting top players are not the same thing. Other than that not being what I argued, you are correct. United, of course, are likely to be a prime example of this without being able to offer CL. Wan-Bissaka may well be happy with a six fold rise in salary and Europa Cup action after one full season in the Premier League
