From our 25 man squad our only hope of scoring goals is to get Benteke back fit and playing. Whatever is said about his bad run of goal scoring form does not detract from his ability to work apposition defences and create space for other team members. He will come good with goal scoring himself but Wilf and Andros need to play on the wings for us to be effective and in that scenario Max will be key. I am still optimistic that come the end of the season we will still be in the Premier League. COYP Edited by Brinscall Eagle (06 Oct 2018 9.04pm)

If what you are saying is true about high wages making no money then whos fault is it then? you are claiming that it's not SP. Doesn't matter if you have sugar daddy you still have to meet the rules so another excuse also wasn't Bournemouth fined for breach of FFP That sums you up constant excuses SP screwed up bringing in the yanks which only wanted to invest in the likes of the ground and if wage bill is so high that is on him again. last transfer window 10m spend that is a joke and we could of loans other players even if it was a risk taking some from abroad.

Certainly until Jan that looks the only option, unless like AWB there is some undiscovered striker talent at the club.

Love McArthur as much as the next fan but feel him and a few choice others are being gifted starts. Only position he really drops is Schlupp's. Everyone else has a guarantee even if they fail to deliver or inspire week in week out. Kouyate & Meyer over Schlupp and McArthur. And give them a string of 5 starts in a row before we judge, least we can give them. (Still think we'll be fine this season and Roy is the guy to do it)

to add to my post grumpymort “If wage and amortisation costs are combined, then Palace are the only club in the Premier League to have spent more money on total player costs than they generated in income.”

5 main issues from today IMHO. Wan Bissaka was poor today, this was a major issue for us as we funnel a lot of balls to him via Tomkins or Luka. This is especially problematic when Zaha cant get anything going. He looks seriously clueless lately coming forward. Playing give and go passes to Townsend when Townsend has 3 players around him. He only took a couple of people on and he gave the ball away countless times in positions where a counter attack is inevitable. Zaha was not at the races and honestly despite a moment of world class brilliance against Huddersfield he is not really firing lately. He is being crowded out of things in the middle of the park and without a proper target man he has to go wide to get on the ball. Speaking of target men, Sorloth must be so poor that when Benteke is down our like for like Benteke replacement cannot even get a game. Sorloth is poor, he doesnt win headers. He gives away fouls, its not looking like a good signing at all. What is going on with our transfer policy? Most of the players we have signed lately are not even starting, let alone Rakip and Jach. We need to take a long look at our transfers lately, in and of themselves some of them look great but the players cannot get into the team - begs the question what level of alignment was existing between RH and Freedman and Parish on who to sign? When you sign a Benteke replacement, and dont play him when Benteke is out, what is going on there? Townsend - had a nice game against West Brom but he had more space than in a recent MLS game I went to. When Zaha is not firing he has the almost sole responsibility to drag the ball up the pitch and make something happen. He made one good cross for the Meyer volley in the whole game.

These figures are way out of date since then we have signed new sponsors which was claimed by SP up there with big teams and cleared out fair amount of players also spent only 10m in summer transfer window. those transfer amounts you are on about are old and if you look at the whole time palace has been in Prem we spent 100m that isn't much I pointed this out before West Ham just spent that in one window same with Fulham. If SP is stupid as it appears he has just shown he is not good at business paying these silly high wages when other clubs are not paying anything near this The other thing look at the profit it shows 2017 profit of rounding of 13m so again why are we running it so we operate like this you need to keep investing we spend 10m this past window it's a complete joke.

Edited by braunstoneagle (06 Oct 2018 10.40pm) SP said it is a massive deal eighth biggest in league so that puts them in with some big boys this is not my word but SP. Why should directors be earning what the big clubs get that is not balanced its like saying my local phone shop director should be earning the same as Apples. Comparing a player to a director is just stupid in no sport would a director get more then sports person who are the talent. Why are we even going on about this you was defending SP but you have just shown he is poor at job (he should be an silent in background and let proper people run the club)
