That pen just sums up what is wrong with modern game. Roy was not pleased at all and when he comes out not happy like that you know something is not right I dont think he has ever attacked a ref before. I hope palace appeal that red card I suppose what did we expect these big teams are cheats they have done it for years this is why they dont want var I bloody hope we don't.

I feel that the game could have finished 1-1 and Liverpool could have had no complaints.

I thought it was a really good close fought game, with the penalty being the turning point. Yes Salah made a meal of it, but there was contact. We have benefited from dubious penalty decisions as well as having some go against us, notably the West Ham and Everton games in the past. I thought we looked really good and compact and could have squared the game in the second half, overall I am not too disappointed, we need to wipe our mouths and move on. Finally, Aaron Wan-Bissaka what a talent, he is off the scale good. Mane’s face was a picture when Aaron caught him up and got that tackle in towards the end of the first half

I bloody hope we don't. Well I saw a video of the incident and there is little contact . Wan Bissaka basically catches up with Salah then pulls out of the tackle . The Liverpool man expecting a challenge throws himself to the ground . The FA have pulled that video on copyright but it clearly shows no foul . I do agree though , the FA will back the ref and the suspension may be increased .Roy said it was a fair sending off also but I bet he changes his mind when he sees the clip .

I’m over it now. We gave a good game to a team that played Real Madrid not so long ago. We are a decent bloody side. Edited by matthau (22 Aug 2018 1.17pm)

We were pressed back for a lot of the game. Not sure this was deliberate to catch them on a counter attack or worry over their top 3 ? Perhaps both. As a result their defence was at the half way line whilst ours was pressed half way in our own half. Schlupp should of been much closer to Alexander Arnold. Gave up counting how many times he received the ball with acres of space. Luckily his crossing wasn't great. However overall we gave it a go, if a little limited and only a dubious ref call prevented us from getting some points. COYP !!

With Ayew and Kouyate on the bench why Hodgson didn't use them ? Was there a particular reason why ?
