Similar to my post on Sorloth.

He's barely played in two and a half years. It might take a few games to get match sharpness back.

Looking forward to seeing him get a chance.

This is fair, but body shape and positioning you learn in under 9’s?

Perhaps not if you are in a youth system that superior to the majority of the "competition" that as a full back you rarely have to defend.
Yes he did play left back in the Dutch League but not in a system where you are under pressure most of the time. It shows with PVA, who is much better going forward then defending and even more so with Riedewald.

Spain or Italy may be a solution for him, much more time on the ball.

Are you suggesting that we have crap coaches?

It would be pretty harsh to judge him after playing so little first team football and in a game against the Ale house cloggers of Watford. I hope he gets a proper run in the team to take the pressure off our limited number of players.

We’ll see what they do about it if he plays at LB again. It’s not really the sort of thing you need to say to a mid 20 year old at 2.45pm. Maybe he didn’t do it in training last week.

It seems likely PVA and Schlupp will still be on the sick list for the next game, so we'll probably see more of Riedwald; he looked good considering his long absence and a position for which he obviously has not been prepared. He played some excellent games in Roy's first season; I'm expecting him to take his chance well.

He's a pretty classy player, all that come through the Ajax academy are. Technically excellent, just unfortunate he was bought in for a failed De Boer formation and doesn't really fit into Roy's tactics.

At Ajax he would play on the right side of a back 3, we obviously don't do that. I can see him getting some game time over the next few weeks, so he has a chance to get a place back in the team.

He's probably lacking a little with the physicality of the Premier League from what I've seen.

Deserves his chance... you don’t come from Ajax unless you have ability... also think he can adapt.. most Dutch players can, if given a few games think he’ll do well....

You know what you get with PVA & Schlupp and I must admit that seeing more of Riedewald and how he plays is one of the things I’m looking forward to in the BHA game.

Well done from him for that block today. Ayew is getting the well deserved plaudits but that last ditch tackle at 1-1 was so important!

Getting a bit fed up with the comments about JR from elements of the crowd. As he came on “ ffs we may as well play with 10 men”. Not helpful and uncalled for. He has hardly played and needs time to get up to speed. Did well yesterday I thought
