I seem to recall the bookies called it right at this point last season, too. Let's not wet our pants just yet, eh? Attachment: Screenshot_20180409-222404.jpg (390.95Kb)

Trouble is, we reserve our best performances against the top teams and get nothing for our pains. Are we playing well enough to survive? I think the answers to all four are 'yes' in which case, without Zaha, we should be worried. Two more wins should suffice. I just hope the second is not needed against West Brom ...

Look it's this simple - with the players we have available to us now we are a top 10 team. We are in an unrealistic position due to our start - 7 games, no points, no goals da de da. We've done brilliantly to be where we are - unlike everyone else we've had a 31 game season to get ourselves out of the sh@te - and we're nearly there. We'll be to good for the weed, then we'll beat Watford away and that will be enough - given the run ins of those around us. Then with what is left we'll finish mid table and you'll think what was all the fuss about. People wetting themselves on here, when we should be praising where are and the opportunity we've given ourselves - given our start and unprecedented injuries. COYP Not that simple, we aren't a top 10 side. The table doesn't lie, we are 17th.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Respect the point' by Midlands Eagle I think the fans are going to get very frustrated over the last 5 fixtures. On paper, we could take 15 points but I don't think Palace know any different but to do things the hard way. A lot of people are talking about the magic 40 mark but realistically to stay up, 37 aka 2 more wins is probably enough. Yes we have winnable games but I think more realistically we have games our team are well capable of not losing. If you look at the DNA of the last 15 or so matches you can generally see the formula is we have a bad first half and don't wake up but then we have an excellent second half. When it's been the lower teams, we have rarely been beaten with this formula and whilst not winning either, we show we have the real quality needed to perform to our level after we've given a bad account of ourselves in the first half. Against the big teams we've generally done the same but we've lost, being left with an all to familiar 'we were unlucky, we should have taken something from them' every time but those games are done with now. I can realistically see us drawing the next 4 games and then winning against West Brom on the final day. Or drawing that as well and going down by a point but hey, let's be at least a bit optimistic. Of course I hope this isn't the case but through a mixture of under-performing first halves and conceding last 5 minute goals, I can see the Brighton home game and Stoke away game being very, very frustrating, just like Bournemouth.

This post has been merged from a topic called 'Respect the point' by Midlands Eagle Could you possibly try to sum up the point you're trying to make in a sentence?
Bexley Dave Can you hear the Brighton sing? I can't hear a ******* thing! "The most arrogant, obnoxious bunch of deluded little sun tanned, loafer wearing mummy's boys I've ever had the misfortune of having to listen to" (Burnley forum) |
