As for not running too hard for a 90th minute ball I suspect that he was pretty knackered by then given that he and Sorloth spent most of the game chasing Utd players who were in possession.

...and this...I have a feeling the people criticising him for this have trouble walking from their PC to the fridge to grab a beer.

Bangell - If Camus wrote The Myth of Sisyphus today, it would be about Jason Puncheon eternally trying and failing to pass with his right foot.

Seems that Benteke and Hennessy get so much criticism...no-one has mentioned Luka's challenge, or lack of it, for their third goal.We played well tonight and their substitutions won them the game. sorloth looked knackered after 70 minutes. squad tonight just not strong enough. F**king gutted....but think we will still be OK.

It was backs against the wall for most of the second half and the difference in quality was obvious.

Benteke made some good clearances in defence but I don't see the logic of playing both him and Sorloth, especially when we have no constructive or holding midfielders.

Overall Palace played with great heart with Wan Bassaka outstanding. We nearly got the much needed point.

There is hope but if we do go down playing with this spirit it will be an injustice.

Ok Bentenke haters. Why did we score the first goal?

One simple f**cking reason. Bentenke.

Now f**k off.

The guy has not had a great season, but watch the f**king game. He also won the free kick that led to the second goal. But hey, don't take your blinkers off.

Who cleared the ball off our line?

Bentenke.

Now f**k off.

f**k the f**k off.

f**k off.

Yey Bentenke!

Seriously!? Schlupp's quick thinking was responsible for PVA's goal. Not Beneteke winning it for ffs, how far do you want to rewind the game to credit him?

Glad he was stood on the line and cleared the ball. Genuinely saved us there.

Still clocked up another 90 mins without a goal, tho didn't he?

Still waiting for Sky to even discuss the other goals. No replay on Lukaku's handball. Of course.

I think it's called a "Milivojevic reducer". I suppose he was too knackered by that stage.

Tired or not, he turned his back.

Sorloth was much faster and run much more than Benteke. Even though his shots were bad, of curse I agree on that one. But big, slow lump? There isn't even a comparison with Benteke's movement. The fact that he can be forced to play on the wing should tell you smtg. Would Benteke ever be able to play on the wing?

Oh, that Sorloth is slower than other players that could have been brought in, that's correct.

His lack of pace means he has to be more clever with his movement. He’s a target man but Benteke is actually quite a technical player and when you watch him properly, you can see he reads the game quite well. I do think people massively underestimate his link up play and movement off of the ball.

He may not ever suit us, but I can’t disregard him as a good player because of one season where we’ve been collectively s*** and credit has to be given where it’s due. Benteke had a very good game if people actually bothered watching instead of just jumping on bandwagons.

Sorloth just looks like a lump with no ball control & absolutely no awareness of his team mates in possession, I really don’t get what people are making a fuss about when it comes to him.

We're the Arthur over ere!

All he had to do was run three yards towards him as he was going to pull the trigger. It was obvious he would have a pop from there.

I would never never single out individual mistakes after a performance like that. Most of our defending was heroic.

Looks like he touched it to control the ball on landing. Hand ball to me

As pointed out elsewhere against anyone but de Gea that header is a nailed-on goal. Did everything right. Keep doing that and they will go in.

Definitely a different performance from the ones lately where he's been making Adebayor look like Ibrahimovic.
