Please don’t make comparisons with Collymore, who had Wright and Bright in front of him. Sorloth may of come from the Danish league, but that is no excuse for being totally useless. Yes I know he was behind Wright and Bright but when he did come on as sub he looked well short of the quality expected.I recall a game in which all he had to do was score from close range with the keeper stranded,he scuffed his shot and the ball hit the post ! Point I am making is that Collymore greatly benefited from a loan move where instead of bit-part appearances he was getting regular game time and this transformed his career.Perhaps this will happen with Sorloth.

I agree with you Willo Stan was pony at first, it wasn't that he couldn't get past Wright and Bright. He was our fastest runner yet looked disinterested and didn't work hard. He had a few opportunities, often from the bench, and was really poor. OK, maybe he just couldn't get into his stride. He certainly came back from Southend a changed man.

I think Sorloth's performances say more about the quality of Palace's scouting and recruitment than the player himself. After nearly a year at the club and receiving a level of coaching way beyond what he had experienced before, there looks to have been no discernible improvement or progression from when he signed in January. Of course a bigger club can afford to pay £9m for the potential and just loan him out and develop his game in that way. We can't do that, we need players that can quickly contribute. So far this has been a ' fail ' I was thinking last night he seems to have gone backwards. At least he had enthusiasm in January

A loan move will not improve the basic problem, that he is useless. He looks more like the Tin Man than a footballer, a sad indictment of Norwegian football.

A reason for his departure may be that by his own admission, he didn't fit in in the dressing room and he as a 'newbie' from non-league was mocked for his dress sense and broad midlands accent.

What's interesting is ex-Arsenal striker Charlie Nicholas was saying last weekend that he thinks Sorloth runs around too much. He appealed for him to: Stand still and be the target man your team needs and bring others into the game."

I don’t think think Sorloth or Ayew did themselves any favours with those performances last night.

It doesn't really matter where Sorloth came from. However it is absolutely clear that he hasn't got the aggression, determination, strength or guile required for the Premiership.

I believe we paid £9 Mill with add-ons could rise to £16.5 Mill for Sorloth. 9m for Sorloth? who the hell scouted him? they should be sacked immediately.

Would be better just to cut our losses and see about offloading him back to a European league. For the money we paid, we could have looked at a decent championship level striker (and lets face it they could have done any worse). The same goes for Ayew, send him back in January if we can. There is a reason he has been relegated twice, he is not a goalscorer. Relying upon him, will get you relegated.

Probably the worst signing since our promotion, although Kebe may run him close. Our options up front are pretty dire with an out of sorts Benteke, a disinterested Ayew and Sorloth who is clearly not up to it and doesn't even try to be. Compare them with who we had in 2013/14 of Jerome, Murray, Chamakh and Gayle and I think it is clear that we were in better shape striker wise in our first season in the Premier League than we are now.

I would take Chamakh and Gayle any day over Sorloth and Ayew, any day. As for Glenn Murray, letting him go was one of the worst errors Parish ever made. Would take Cameron Jerome alone over Ayew or Sorloth in fact. There is your progress.....
Trump lost. Badly. Hahahahahahaha. |
