Whoa back. You need to Google Rotherham and Telford pal. It was literally thousands and police and councillors were in on it. Pretty sure a councillor is doing porridge as we speak.
Too often we rush to conclusions that people are failing to do their jobs when they are actually working with restrictions placed upon them. I am not for one moment suggesting anything more than that we probably don't know everything.
For the avoidance of doubt any comments in response to a previous post are directed to its ideas and not at any, or all, posters personally. |

Part of the process is to investigate evidence from any sources available, not to ignore it because it doesn't fit with the political zeitgeist of the day. Of course but how do you know it was ignored? Just because it wasn't acted upon as you think it ought to have been doesn't mean it was ignored. I suspect that the authorities had information coming from many sources but, for whatever reason, decided not to take action at that time. Maybe as part of a bigger strategy or a lack of evidence.

Perhaps you should read 'Easy Meat' by Peter McLoughlin. Been out since 2016, plenty of accusations....not one court case against him. There have been decades of abuse that was unacted upon in over twenty British towns. What do you know? He's no more 'self appointed' than any other activist. Do you go around criticising all activists then? Edited by Stirlingsays (09 Feb 2019 1.21pm) I have followed this story for at least 20 years, well before it hit the headlines, as I have had some tangential personal connections. I can assure you that both the Police and social services were very well aware of the issue for all that time, but preferred to handle things quietly and without it becoming a media circus which just made things worse. That books have been written detailing some of the offences is obvious. Whether they are helpful is a matter of opinion. Robinson is not simply an "activist". I have no problem with activists who pursue causes provided they do so via channels that don't make things worse through inflammatory speeches, unlawful behaviour, intimidation or incitement to violence. I regard Robinson not as an activist but as a rabble rouser.

Or is it an inconvenient truth for the left? How you respond to issues has nothing to do with what is true, or untrue. It is only to do with what is the most effective strategy and that ought to have nothing to do with politics.

Oh I see....'inflammatory speeches, unlawful behaviour, intimidation or incitement to violence'.......So you were against the tactics employed by the suffragette movement then.....against the ANC led by Mandela. Or rather you are quite happy when it's a political movement you agree with.....but unacceptable from one you don't. Edited by Stirlingsays (10 Feb 2019 12.35pm)

This post has been merged from a topic called 'BBC fake news - Tommy Robinson' by Midlands Eagle The left truly hate Tommy Robinson......but it's their policies that created him. Now they seek to destroy him.....but if you can't fix the underlying problems....and of course they can't fix them.....then they can't destroy him. Because you can't destroy an idea.....Not without severe repression.
