Team set up wasn't working 1st half but for all we know Benteke can't definitely manage 90mins let alone 2 games in 3 days. Why both Wilf and Townsend ran to goal whenever we got the ball was pretty naive to watch. One has to show for the ball sometimes.

But what frustrated me was in the 2nd Zaha playing up top too much with Benteke but never getting either close to CB or something freeing for the ball and then Benteke waiting for the attempted assist. I thought Zaha was wasted and Cheek was wasted as well on the right. They were in the wrong positions.

Don't get me started on the defence nearly chucking the game and then the lack of urgency as they looked almost okay with another draw to relegation. But we won with the bad form I said would strike during this run of games we need mid table form in so I'm happy but hope Roy learns again, which tbf to him he has mostly and early.

Well that is good to know. Hopefully if Roy can learn quickly enough from your sage advice, he may even get to manage England one day.

We've got precious little from playing much better this season.

We really, really needed 3 points today and got them.

Our form is picking up - the likes of West Ham and Swansea could soon be in our rear view mirror if we keep this up.

Well I think Simon's head is large; always involved in espionage. (Name that tune)

We actually have 8pts from the last 6 games which is pretty good but you're right, we could have had more. As I mentioned on another thread, that repeated across the rest of the season - i.e. 8pts from every 6 games - will see us stay up fairly comfortably.Seems doable, especially since those 8pts from the last 6 should have been more.

We could soon be in theirs, don’t you mean?

Very poor on the goal .... (that's a Joke in case anyone isn't sure).

Quick off his line when sold short in the 2nd half, decent save in the 1st half, no blunders. Yeah, he did OK.

As others have said, we played poorly today (too many were off their game) but kept going. Playing well and winning can come later.

Credit to Stoke for making it hard. Credit to Palace for plugging away.

Exactly, and in the 92nd minute we had 2 centre backs and a centre forward in the 6 yard box. We went for it and got the reward

We’ve got this. Good old Roy has come on and steadied the ship so bloody well. I just don’t have any fear that we’re not going to pull away and be comfortable for the foreseeable. Really sorry for the reactionary calling him a c*** earlier on this thread. Was hung over and grumpy and cold. I was the c***. Eagles!
