And yet RLC gets a call up...

Since when do young players that have so far done NOTHING in the game get England call ups in front of team mates that play out their skin, week in week out?

Any young player from a big club....

SHOCKING.

Only saw the 2nd half, but from what I saw of RLC he has been disappointing in the last couple of appearances. Tends to fade in and out of the game too often. Doesn't get back quickly enough imo, which was evident as Spurs took advantage and exploited our right flank many times leaving TFM exposed on many occasions. We should have got something from this match and we may yet rue those missed chances to pick up points against sides we're not expected to beat. The lack of a proper striker up front in the absence of Benteke is self evident.

Thought we played really well again today. The problem is that we aren't turning good performances into points.

It could have easily gone the other way. Should have had a penalty, Wilf missed a sitter, and their keeper had a great game.

I thought Schlupp had a terrible game, RLC is certainly not England standard, and we aren't dangerous enough from set pieces.

I really don't like Son. He always plays well against us. Plus his playacting with his head injury cost us an attacking position, as soon as the refs whistle went the cheating pussy was straight up back to his feet. We shouldn't give possession back when that happens.

To stand a chance of staying up we'll need 15points by Christmas. 4 wins out of the next 7 looks unlikely despite how well we perform.

No the bookies too - playing well and not getting battered was good - but nul points was not good. One less game to get a point from - if a real gap develops we're going to really struggle.

We are still on the same number of points as in 13/14 after 11 games - then we won 3 of the next 4. We need to do that now.

Unfortunately that's now 8 successive away PL games without a goal.

Not sure how much he was play acting, the replay looked like he got a proper smack. Great finish by him and that was the difference, their best real chance they made impossible for the keeper to show off heroics, and ours gave their keeper a chance to stake his claim as man of the match (and rightly so).

We desperately need a centre forward though.

If we'd have defended like that against West Ham, we'd have battered them.

This game was solid, I admit that. But we always look like that against top teams. Palace is a very good team for counter attacking. However, in matches with lower half teams, where you have few spaces and you need to create opportunities, the team is lacking.
I wish all matches were against top six teams

The task is getting harder week by week. I think we can still do it, survive, but it will all be down to if the players can keep their belief/spirit and if injuries don't affect our better players.

We need 7 months of luck now in short.

didnt expect anything from that game, yet we couldve, and probably shouldve, got something. we looked solid and created chances. two things that boil my piss tho, every single game...giving away possession when not even under pressure. and why not have either wilf or andros on the halfway line, when the opposition have a corner or free kick? as soon as we clear the ball, its coming straight back, putting pressure on us defensively again. no outlet.

i think we should go for a quick striker in jan. somebody playing on the shoulder, and can get in behind.

and people saying wilf was awful? no way! ok he missed a sitter, and made a bad decision, in a good position. but the spurs defenders still had to earn their corn. both he and andros were good outlets. he may not have been at his best (even the best have off days), but awful??? come on, really?

but talking of players, can someone tell me what schlupp is about? ive nothing against the guy. he puts in effort and tries. but he just doesnt offer anything to the team. even in this crazy transfer market now, we paid well over the odds...again

Bah. Wrong thread. Was posting about Loftus-Cheek and England. But while I'm here he looks as though he needs a centre-forward in front of him, no end product.

Thought wd played well and deserved something from the game. Sakho and dann looked superb at the back. However....dissapointed that sakho 'bottled it ' with the chance in thd first couple of minutes. Plus 9 times out of 10 wilf scores that one. RLC needs a rocket up his a**e, didn't look interested and was never in thd game. TFM's positioning is awful (not just this game), how much space did he give rose thd whole game. And don't get me started on schlupp, strolled around as if it was a dundah morning kick about. With spurs 'tired' and having key players missing, we missed a real chance to pick up some unexpected points. But another encouraging performance.

Perfect summary of our situation. Well said.
