If we do this civilly, then perhaps we can get to the bottom of this once and for all end the toing and froing. I'm being sincere here as well before the usual lot come on and try to start getting stuck into me. Edited by Brentmiester_General (19 Oct 2017 12.48pm) Have just seen your post so apologise for the late reply. First I have never disrespected Jules in any way. As for Wayne I dislike the way he has been vilified on here mostly unfairly and has been blamed for almost every goal we've conceded this season. I just wish people would analyse the games in more detail especially events leading up to goals before automatically blaming Wayne. I could be here a long time giving examples where he has been blamed unfairly but most people would have fallen asleep by then. I would be quite happy if a better keeper than WH was found for us but that doesn't mean Wayne is useless as there are many keepers in the PL who are about the same standard as him. I'll give one example ie against Southampton he saved a fierce shot but it went out to an unmarked Saints forward who scored. That same week end I saw Courtois do the almost exact same save but the Chelsea defence were alert and cleared the ball. And in the WBA v Man City Cup game Ben Foster made a save but the ball was parried and Sane scored from the rebound. However Wayne was crucified on here for that goal but no-one blamed the defence in front of him for leaving the Saints player unmarked. I could go on but will leave it there for now. [Link] "It is good that he is now fit and ready to play. I have now got to make a decision. Do I stick with Speroni, who took his place on Saturday? Or do I put him straight back in the team? You will have to wait until Saturday to find out what that decision is." Hodgson admits that the players will know tomorrow (Friday) who is playing and who isn't, with the team set to be announced to the players at a lunchtime meeting. "We tend to name the team earlier than I guess some managers or coaches do, certainly we have a meeting tomorrow at lunchtime and we'll announce the team then," he said.

As most are maintaining, it's more than just what he does in the 90 minutes that makes him so important to our football club. Much like Mile Jedinak was also much more than just a player for us. When the odds are so badly stacked against us as they are, we need warriors out there on the pitch. Speroni is a warrior for CPFC. I think this is a major thing that is missed by his detractors. We can't afford to out and assemble a team of all stars like a lot of the premier league sides, so we need a little something special to overcome the odds. Julian gives us something that money can't buy. Something that Chelsea didn't have on Saturday. Along with a Wilf and a few others, it's the reason we overcome their team of superstars on the weekend. That, cannot be in doubt surely?

I hope Jules plays but I can see Hennessey being selected. I also hope Punch is on the bench again but that should be posted on another thread.

The crowd really shouldn't have been up for that all things considered. Two teams of Chelsea's calibre had just slapped 9 goals past us in the last two games and we were looking out to sea with no other reasons to be hopeful other than the return of Wilf and Speroni. You simply can't deny the effect Jukes had around the place. If you are denying it then you're Edited by Brentmiester_General (20 Oct 2017 7.29am)

For the record and because I am now bored with this I do not think Speroni did anything to suggest he should be automatically replaced by Hennessey on Saturday and should play again this week , and I hope he does well but has very little to do again as that will mean we have done well and probably will have won.
