His saving/shot stopping is much better imo. His kicking is nowhere near as good as WH's though. Call me old fashioned but I'd take a goalkeeper that stops the ball every day of the week.

Only piece of critism - please place one player (at least) by post(s) on corners.

Shocking from pva. He's been s***e today I thought he epitomised the never die spirit today. On numerous occasions he won balls he had no right to win and got forward to good effect (despite that miss). After a result like that I don't think it would be fair to target any players. This was a team result that reminds me of our win over Arsenal last season where we were actually the better team (rather than any luck). Roy had it tactically spot on with Townsend playing as a false 10 and Zaha being allowed to conserve his energy in between attacks. Luka was immense and showed some classy touches. Ward played his first really good game since last season and Sakho was frightening and awe inspiring in equal measure (an assist followed by that back heel!) Chelsea looked like they thought they could win this in second gear and struggled to get going when we came out playing with passion and energy. Conte's assertion that their injuries cost them the game is pretty lame considering we didn't have a striker, our first-team goalkeeper or RLC, who until today has been one of our best players this season. By contrast he could call on three players that cost the equivalent of our entire squad (minus Sakho and Bentenke).* Anyway----YYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! *I just checked and the three players that came in for Chelsea's injured players cost a combined £100 million. So in fact that probably is almost the cost of our entire squad including Sakho and Bentenke. Edited by taylors lovechild (14 Oct 2017 6.53pm)

Concerning PVA, he f***ed up a few times because he was trying to do a lot, I thought he played excellently and has exactly the right sort of spirit to fit in at Palace.

Some of his kicking was to say the least wayward. His saving and coming for the ball were good though. Edited by johnno42000 (14 Oct 2017 6.18pm) Yeah I didn't say he was perfect, I'm still convinced we need another keeper desperately, but he just seemed to be more positive in his distribution compared to WH, much the same as with PVA he f***ed up because he was trying in the first place, if that makes sense at all.

My wife tells me that our victory was a story on BBC news this evening - on the news, not the sport (she is adamant). Although she does get confused about sport generally so maybe not.

I decided to leave after 11 mins when (bloody typically)our first goal this season was credited as a Chelsea own goal. Please let me down gently with the final result, I just know we probably let in 4 or 5 against the reigning champions and Roy has been sacked!!! Ollie's Dad,Ash.

No we only lost 1-3 and played reasonably well. Roy has to win next week to save his job apparently.

Don't get me wrong the points are great, but to me the performance is what really matters. Attacked at every opportunity and never parked the bus. Yeah, with better finishing they may have scored a couple more.........but so could we.
