We don't do possession; we do defense and attack. Everything else is just wa**ing with a football.

A great pre season opener against quality opposition for a change in pre season allowing FdB to see what he has got and what we need for the first time. On the business front it exposes us to another market and sponsors. We are in HK for two reasons:
1. Pre season training
2. Money

Thats it folks lets not get excited

Agreed.
And I thought Keshi Anderson did himself no harm.

I new before the game should we get beat that would be an overreaction on here.

Memory serves me right Frank said at the press conference that today's game against Liverpool was two or three games early.

We'll be up to speed when we play Liverpool anfield next month.

Must of been hard also playing in conditions well over 30 degrees and high humidity also.

I lost count of the number of subs !
Was it 21 v 21 today ?
At the end of the day Liverpool's 21 are far better than our 21 and given that this was Liverpool's third game and our first game is it any wonder that we were decidedly second best and got beaten, particularly as we were setup in a new formation and trying to play a different style ?

Some on here are convinced that winning was important today and so are upset. Given all the circumstances, this was an awesome result for us. FDB is bringing CPFC into a new era and I'm excited. It wouldn't have taken too many tweaks today to have seen Palace trounce Liverpool. Their 2 goals today were from errors from players who most on here already know have their time up. Any half-decent defender would have blocked the first goal that was Damo's error, the second was Kelly's error. And I add that let's not be too harsh on those two as it is still preseason, but they displayed their old form I'm afraid. Dann looked great, Tomkins was missing, we tried out lots of youngsters against multi-million pound opposition. FDB is a HUGE upgrade on Pardew and significant upgrade on Sam. I am very happy.

Originally posted by Willo I really do not think that Lee and Williams are of PL quality.

Lee - maybe; Williams - no, in my opinion.

The thing I like about Korean players is their work ethic and attitude. Excellent professionals with no trouble with off-field activities, if you know what I mean. They will do what they are told to do and not mess about. I want to see more of Lee. He may turn out to be a gem of a utility player.. or maybe not.. but I want to see more of him before I judge.

Thanks and thanks direwolf also.

I read that when in defence the formation changes and he likes five in midfield with one up top. So that would make some sense if Liverpool had most possession.

Last season he strolled on the pitch as a sub when we were awarded a free kick, placed the ball by the corner flag and whipped in a delightful ball. Decent player.
