Let's deal in the reality, NOT some "Dreamt up" hypothetical situation.

I've commented on what happened and explained that such 'Meetings' between managers and referees before a game DO happen as they can trod the same paths.

What was Clattenburg to do ? Put his hand to the camera , or do an "About-turn" and shun someone he has clearly spoken to on numerous occasions. And Ferguson wasn't even the manager of the team !

At the end of the day, if we had won that game this topic would never have occurred.

It's about context. As has been said, a polite handshake to all present would have been appropriate.

In my working life I )like many others) have to manage any potential conflicts of interest and this is very relevant to the argument - any referee is the same. It would appear that you believe this does not apply to Mr C when, clearly, it does.

Yes I argue my case free from personal slurs unlike many on HOL who have chosen to trod this path with such attacks against me.

I have responded to numerous points on here - I don't have to spend hours on end just answering questions or passing comments many of which I have made over and over again to the extent I feel like a gramophone record that has got stuck in the groove.

I am campaigning for the Conservatives in the local elections on Thursday so I shall be out on that 'Campaign Trail' shortly.HOL will be a "Willo Free" zone and I suspect for many that will be bliss.

Even I with my limited intelligence understands what this means.

Clattenburg happened to get involved in a situation not of his making and I would argue this point if it was any other referee. And I repeat - referees and managers paths do happen to cross before games but not intentionally.

Just waiting for the comments on HOL "Clattenburg's decision making was influenced by Ferguson " Dear oh dear.Mountains and molehills spring to mind.

Anyway, off on the 'Campaign Trail' now !

Easier said than done when someone is being very friendly and effusive and merely engaging in a bit of banter.

The Anti-Clattenburg faction will drag up all sorts of things to criticise him.At the end of the day, like him or loathe him he is considered one of the top referees in the world, unpalatable as it is to those on here.

Not really. If he can't just shake a man's hand politely, and remind that man that anything more would not be right then he is weak and should not be officiating FA Cup Finals as he Is clearly not strong enough to run a game ignore football

Agree with this.

Refs need to stop being so 'pally pally' with players and just be a referee who can do their job properly. Take no s*** from players like Rooney who are constantly moaning in his ear all the time when things arent going his way. Tell him to f*** off and let him do HIS job or book the c***!

Think it's all part of the society we live in. Every f***er wants a social media presence , to show off, living in a me me me world. Football is all part and parcel of it.

1) Replying to well constructed posts as "hogwash" and rhetoric grandstanding" just because you disagree could be construed as a slur on that poster.
2) You are correct, you dont have to spend your time answering questions..it is something you choose to do and seem to get some sort of perverse pleasure in dismissing/undermining comments that you happen not to agree with.
I know Premier Palace who is a young University student who loves Palace and is a Season Ticket holder. To dismiss his arguments in the way you did is both rude and unacceptable, perhaps an apology would be in order! Oh I forgot you never say anything out of order.

Not in my thought process. All I've pointed out is that, in my opinion, Mr C's actions prior to the game were unprofessional in so far as he is required to appear impartial whether in the tunnel or on the pitch. Whether he is or not is moot, he must at least appear to be and his actions certainly didn't portray that.

Because it is darling Mark. The one who has now chased the Saudi dollar, in the words of Kevin Keegan "I would love it" if allegations are now published (with proof) I am sure Willo would still find an excuse for him.
